Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Matthes.
Hi Nicholas , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Went to TCNJ and received bachelor’s degree in health & exercise science. Worked for two years, decided to go back to school for Physical Therapy. Went to Rutgers University to get my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Worked in several offices over the last ten years. During this time, I made connections and developed my craft until I opened up my own location. My physical therapy practice is designed to help each individual achieve their wellness goals. Whether it is to get rid of chronic pain, recover from surgery or improve their balance and stability, we are there to help them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There has been definite struggles and difficult times along the way. Difficulties including the struggles of navigating through a profession that is hands on during Covid times, over working myself to the point where it was affecting my health and dealing with my own surgeries and recoveries. There were risks involved with opening my own practice which I did six months prior to getting married. The only way I was able to get through these struggles was in putting my trust in God and that He would carry me through it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a physical therapist. I always found it interesting and a challenge to have a new patient come in with an issue they want resolved and we were the ones who had to figure out what was causing the problem and how to fix it. It’s almost like a puzzle for me. No two patients are the same which makes the day interesting and very rewarding when you see someone improve. I am board certified in orthopedics. I am known for my aggressive manual skills. What sets myself and my business apart from others its dedication to each patient and actually caring about them as a person. We treat each patient like family and truly care about their recovery.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Faith in God and Jesus Christ is the most important thing. Everything else is secondary.
