Today we’d like to introduce you to ROBX.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Play Factory began as a two-man collaborative brand between Julian Jones and I (ROBX). Julian specialized in videography and music videos, while I focused on photography and concept art. We built the brand to merge our skills and create work that lived at the intersection of photography and filmmaking.
After a year of producing content for our YouTube channel, our vision grew beyond the original scope. We wanted to create films, web series, and original projects — so we expanded the team, bringing on Parisse, Marc, Wendell, and eventually Trinity.
Fast forward to 2026 — we’ve produced 6 short films, over 500 videos ranging from skits to full web series, and much more. Our most recent release, The Promise, written by Trinity and Parisse, follows two childhood best friends who made a pact to marry each other if they were both still single by 35. At Play Factory, our mission is simple: create meaningful stories and build a community through the power of storytelling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely had its challenges. Starting out, none of us had formal experience writing scripts. Julian and I had editing experience, but scripted content and filmmaking concepts were new territory for both of us — and on top of that, neither of us had ever run a brand of this scope before. We really leaned on each other to grow into what Play Factory is today.
Over the years, we’ve learned that a great team is only as good as its people. Everyone brings different skills and experiences to the table, and through collaboration, we’ve found the recipe for creating original films together.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Our team specializes in taking narrative stories from idea to production. Each member is a seasoned writer with their own distinct style, which allows us to work across a range of genres and topics. At our core, we’re all film geeks — we love talking about shows and movies, and that passion naturally bleeds into how we collaborate and create. Our focus is always on making each project the best it can be, knowing that honest feedback and open conversation are what get us there.
Some of the projects we’re most proud of include Through Thick & Thin, Scorpio Moon (web series), Closure, The Promise, VIRAL, Too Close To Home, and Unemployed.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What we love most about Rahway and the surrounding area is the amount of artists out here doing incredible things. We’ve had the pleasure of working with several up-and-coming actors, comedians, and content creators in the area — it genuinely feels like a city on the rise in the art space, and it’s an exciting time to be a part of it early.
What we like least is simply that it’s still growing. In terms of art and influence, a lot of opportunities require you to create them yourself. That’s not necessarily a bad thing — it’s actually a great space to stand out — but it’s something worth keeping in mind.
