Today we’d like to introduce you to Bilal Alsubai.
Hi Bilal, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in NY and I am if middle eastern background. I was the first to go to college and went beyond for a doctorate degree. I chose the pharmacy career because health services is what is most dear to me. I have worked as a pharmacist for almost 10 years in different environments and currently I own two independent pharmacies in NJ.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was definitely not a smooth road, I struggled and worked really hard to get where I am today
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a local independently owned retail pharmacy. Ownership has been passed down over the years but it is also the oldest pharmacy in NJ, since the 1800’s. We fill prescriptions, sell OTC items, offer free delivery and discounts, administer vaccines, etc. One selling point for doctors is that we offer prior authorization support.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was an energetic kid and did not like to socialize. Overtime, I grew to be the opposite. More calm and stable and love to socialize
