Hi Salubrious, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began with Spellbinding Sisters, which I co-founded with Solitaire Bon Lavi. What started locally eventually grew into serving clients worldwide through spiritual work and our practice of Haitian Vodou.
Since my last interview, I’ve continued to deepen my connection with Spirit while expanding into my own offshoot, Love Salubrious. Through Love Salubrious, I offer Tarot readings, natal chart readings, palm readings and dream interpretation. It has allowed me to develop another side of my spiritual practice while continuing my work with Spellbinding Sisters.
After all these years, I’m still growing, learning and finding new ways to help and guide the people who come to me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning that you can genuinely want the best for someone, but you cannot control their choices or their circumstances. Over the years I’ve learned when to take on a case, when to be honest that someone’s expectations may not be realistic, and sometimes when to simply say no.
Another challenge has been building trust in an industry where unfortunately there are many scams. Being transparent, honest and accessible to our clients has always been extremely important to us, and I think our longevity speaks for itself.
We’ve been impressed with Spellbinding Sisters, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Spellbinding Sisters specializes in spiritual work rooted in Haitian Vodou and other traditional practices. We offer spellwork for clients worldwide, including custom workings, spiritual oils, powders, baths, Gris Gris bags, dolls, herbs and other spiritual products. What has always set us apart is the personal connection we build with our clients. Some have been with us for well over a decade, and we believe strongly in honesty, transparency and being realistic about what spiritual work can and cannot do.
I have also expanded personally as Salubrious Surrey through my own brand, Love Salubrious, where I offer Tarot readings, natal chart readings, palm readings and dream interpretation. Divination has become a huge part of my work because I love helping people understand not only what may be happening around them, but the patterns, choices and possibilities available to them.
I’m incredibly proud that something Solitaire and I began so many years ago has grown into an international business, while still remaining personal. Whether someone comes to Spellbinding Sisters for spiritual work or to Love Salubrious for a reading, I want them to feel like they are dealing with a real person who genuinely cares about their situation.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is my family, my animals and being surrounded by the people I love. I’m happiest outdoors, especially spending time with my horses or hiking somewhere surrounded by nature. I love music and singing, and I’ve also discovered how much I enjoy challenging myself physically and seeing what I’m capable of.
My spiritual life brings me a lot of happiness as well. I love learning, connecting with Spirit and helping people through my work. I think as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to appreciate the smaller things more too: a meaningful conversation, an unexpected sign, laughing with someone I love, or simply having a really good day with the people and animals who make my life feel full.
