Today we’d like to introduce you to Armando Castañeda.
Hi Armando, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I picked up a camera when I was 18 years old. My professor told me “you have an eye for things”, ever since then I have never put the camera down. In 2018 while driving around Seattle my eye was suddenly caught by a group of lowriders. I introduced myself to them and I havent looked back since. I have so many pictures of the “lowrider” community because I loved the passion for the game. I loved and admired the hard working people that build their rides because its a very prideful thing when its built by the owners hands. I did some portraits along the way but ever since 2026 started portraits have been ny goal. One of my portraits is actually going to be published in the February addition for Swing Magazines.
I love the camera game and I love to teach people what I have learned thought out these incredible 10 years behind the camera.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road as the people who wanna support you can’t because theyre already money tight since they focus on their rides. But the ones who do support you (like Peter) will always help and teach to grow and love what you do.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer based out of Seattle Washington. Last couple years have been doing cars and landscapes. But 2026 will be the portrait year. Im most proud of finding my community of incredible individuals that are Seattle Snap.
It’s a creative safe space for content creators to create, teach, grown and interact with a different brain and see how they look at life through their lens
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always looking to collaborate with like minded people who wanna get better not just anchor down and stay in a stationary place
