Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Andra Henriques.
Hi D’Andra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been a hairstylist for over 20 years, and wanted to pursue my dream opening a cafe. But I wanted it to be more than a cafe, I wanted to create a community hub for people to gather. So I began the journey of creating P23 cafe. We create handcrafted drinks thats made with wholesome ingredients and host events such as game nights, trivia nights, and bingo nights to engage the community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a very rocky road. I feel as though I leapt into this position and have been fighting to keep it open ever since. I am currently trying to increase traffic flow the can bring in more revenue but we aren’t hitting any qoutas and currently in the Red.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I studied art in college, so I love the arts. I wanted to incorporate art in the cafe, with events and engagements. We have art all throughout the space whenever you visit. At the cafe we specialize in handcrafted boba drinks and specialty drinks. we love to craft new flavors for people to try and always open to suggestions.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We would love more people to know about us, putting the word out, booking our space for events, co-working at our space, doing pop-ups and just come check us out!
