Today we’d like to introduce you to Kesho Kage.
Hi Kesho, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Back in 2016 I was a mom of two who had to move back home because of a failed relationship, I had to move cities and my dream was to become an Architect but the situation left me needing to get some type of of stability and financial independence quickly. It was suggested to me to go to the cities local cosmetology school to grab a quick useful degree that could open a door to a leap in my financial situation and help pay for my Architectural Education!
I wasn’t looking forward to that process because I hated doing hair and even worse I hated makeup, but it was very practical to me and I was in no position to turn down intelligent advice! So with that I went, and the book work was wonderful, I’ve always been naturally gifted at completing and understanding written assignments, but then, the practical. Tedious, repetitive, and boring, for months upon months.
Then I get my first glimpse of live, a hair show, where all creativity is not only welcomed but encouraged! It was a reminder that there’s two sides to this industry! The incredible work and meticulous work that is needed to do the everyday clientele and the crazy, zigzag, life breathing, freeing, application of the creative boundary breaking, fantasy, world creating Sfx industry. This is how I viewed it!
Body painting, creature creating, wig styling, wearable art, nails, all of this became my architectural tools, these became the building blocks for my blueprints, that hair show I completely fell and love, and with the confirmation I received from God, I never looked back!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, but it’s always been faith driven. There’s be lack of confidence, weary of creating, misunderstanding of product, unhappy clients, loss of opportunities, and then life on top of all of that!

I am a makeup artist/content creator, I work on clients, myself, Theater, and much more! I specialize in creating creatures and characters that belong to fantastical, whimsical, and even eerie worlds. I am most proud of winning and Online make up competition called blended. What sets me apart is that I create from the angle of the creature or character is a real living being with a story to tell and a message to get across
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My relationship with God is the foundation for everything you see me create! His creative nature that he’s so lovingly shared with me is such a huge piece to why I do what I do and how I do it! My family has always supported me and rooted for me, whether it be helping with the children, sending me supplies, or even being my model. My husband has been willing to sacrifice, fund, and ride along for all of my endeavors, never complaining and cheering me on continuously!
