Conversations with Krissy Sliwoski

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krissy Sliwoski.

Hi Krissy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Travel was always a passion of mine. So, when I left my career as a teacher to raise my kids it became something we did more frequently. Over time I went from planning small weekends trips to massive 15 people vacations to Europe all with private tours and experiences. I started making connections with small businesses and then began helping others create vacations. I would often try to research the experiences I was looking for on Youtube or social media and it made it clear to me what was was NOT out here that I was looking for.

What started as a seed began to grow…what if I could own my own company that not only helped people create custom travel itinereries but also be a resource for all the little tips and tricks along the way that could make a trip unforgettable. I’d had a background in film and public speaking and at my age knew how hard it would be too start out…so decided that if I was going to create a resource for elevated family travel it would be my own company.

I waited until both of my kids started school full time to launch the company…and voila, Suiteheart of the Seas was born.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
While I’ve been so fortunate since the launch of the company…the road to the launch was harder than I expected. After having my children and COVID, I found myself no longer feeling it possible to do anything independent. It took a long road and inspiration to realize that the piggies can’t eat from the trough if the trough isnt full. I know it seems silly but when you are home with kids all the time its easy to lose sight of making time to create something for yourself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create elevated family travel content for people going on cruises, different destinations, Disney, and resorts. While I’m a licensed travel agent, my specialty is in curating itineries and finding ways to elevate a vacation to the next level. That is through finding authentic experiences/private tours over large group tours, creating clothing themes for everyone to join, finding hidden gems on a cruise ship or in a theme park that makes the trip unforgettable that most people just walk by. My videos are meant to inspire all of us to create these amazing memories with our families- and often its way more affordable than people thing.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My rule is simple. I’ll never not try anything because I’m afraid-if its something I want to do. Most of my childhood was spent scared of so many things and I wanted my girls to be braver than I was so I vowed when they were born that rule. So now I’ve done trapeze class on the roof of a NYC building, hiked Gibraltar, jumped off cliffs, and gone on every ride that scares me. And my kids aren’t afraid of anything.
