Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Stallone-Soto.
Hi Maria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I fell in love with the wedding industry while working as an Event Manager for Premier Events by Reema, a luxury floral and event design company in New Jersey. That chapter gave me a deep appreciation for the magic that unfolds when talented creatives come together with intention.
After planning my own wedding, I realized how much storytelling and meaning could be embedded into paper details and signage. That experience sparked the beginning of Socially Scripted: a studio born from the desire to create design that feels personal, editorial, and deeply considered.
Today, I lead Socially Scripted as its founder and creative director, blending romantic minimalism with structured, narrative design. The studio specializes in custom stationery and immersive signage for weddings and events, working with clients who value beauty, strategy, and heart at every touchpoint.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely had its share of challenges. Starting Socially Scripted came with a steep learning curve. Not just in design and production, but in business operations, pricing, boundaries, and growth. In the beginning, I was navigating entrepreneurship while raising three littles under the age of 3, figuring out how to scale a luxury client experience without burning out.
There were moments where it felt like I was constantly catching up – refining backend systems, learning how to streamline production, and building my aesthetic voice while delivering for real clients. It took time to trust my instincts, to charge what the work was worth, and to shift away from projects that didn’t align creatively or energetically.
But those struggles shaped how I now operate. They taught me to design a business that supports both the work and the person behind it. Each season of refinement helped me build a studio that feels clear, intentional, and creatively fulfilling.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Socially Scripted, we create custom stationery and signage for weddings and events with a focus on intentional design and storytelling. From sculptural welcome signs to heirloom-quality invitation suites, our work is crafted to be both visually striking and deeply personal.
We’re known for our narrative approach. I take time at the start of every project to truly get to know my couples – how they met, what matters to them, what makes their story theirs. That insight gets translated into subtle design moments, like hidden motifs or quiet nods to shared memories. I often weave in messaging that only their closest guests might catch, and it’s always exciting when couples come back with stories of people noticing those thoughtful details.
We’re one of the few signage studios that regularly works on destination events. Whether we’re installing on the East Coast, or exploring travel opportunity on the West Coast, we’re equipped to adapt to new venues and new vendor teams with ease. Many of our most valuable creative relationships have been formed on-site at these travel events, where flexibility, trust, and execution matter most.
What I’m most proud of is the way Socially Scripted has grown without compromising the heart of the work. We lead with clarity, emotion, and a commitment to craft, and every design we deliver reflects that.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love connecting with couples, planners, and fellow creatives who value thoughtful, story-driven design. If you’re interested in working together, the best place to start is by visiting our website and filling out the inquiry form, especially for custom wedding stationery or signage projects. The earlier you reach out in the planning process, the better as peak wedding season dates fill up quickly.
For creative collaborations or partnership opportunities, email is always welcome. Whether it’s a brand event, or something a bit outside the box, we’re always open to aligned projects that value intention and aesthetics.
To support Socially Scripted, sharing our work, referring clients, or simply engaging with our content goes a long way. We’re a small but passionate studio, and that kind of support helps us grow while staying grounded in the creative work we love.
