Hi Rebel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Rebel Strings was born from a shared vision between Lourdes Rosales and Naxo Lara: to redefine what live string performance could be within the modern luxury event space.
Both come from extensive classical training and international performance careers. Over time, they recognized a gap in the market. Traditional string performances at events were often treated as background music rather than as a thoughtfully curated artistic experience. They saw an opportunity to elevate strings from simple accompaniment to the emotional centerpiece of an event.
Rather than approaching weddings and private celebrations as isolated performances, Lourdes and Naxo began designing complete musical experiences — carefully shaping the journey from elegant wedding ceremonies to interactive cocktail hours, and into high-energy receptions.
From the very beginning, they positioned Rebel Strings not simply as musicians, but as a luxury entertainment brand. They invested intentionally in high-level production, cohesive visual identity, signature service offerings, and strong relationships within the New Jersey and New York event markets. Their focus on refinement, client experience, and artistic consistency quickly set them apart.
Today, Rebel Strings is recognized for delivering performances that balance sophistication and impact — blending classical precision with modern energy. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been entirely smooth. One of the biggest challenges we faced was shifting the perception of live strings in the event industry — moving from being seen as background music to becoming a featured, high-impact experience in a very competitive New Jersey and New York market.
Building a luxury brand required constant reinvestment, strategic positioning, and a deep commitment to consistency and quality. But we’ve always chosen to see challenges as opportunities. Every obstacle pushed us to refine our vision, elevate our standards, and grow stronger as a company.
We are always striving for excellence and continuously focused on crafting unique, elevated musical experiences that truly stand apart.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in creating elevated, immersive live music experiences for luxury weddings and private events. While we are based in New Jersey and New York, we also perform internationally and for destination events.
Although strings are at the heart of what we do, our most in-demand service is our DJ Fusion experience, combining live electric violins, percussion, and saxophone.
What we’re most proud of is the emotional impact we create. Seeing guests connect, dance, and truly experience the music is what drives us.
We don’t just perform, we curate experiences. Rebel Strings is a luxury entertainment brand, where production quality, signature sound, and client experience are as important as the music itself. Our goal is always to deliver something unforgettable, refined, and completely unique.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson we’ve learned is that challenges are opportunities in disguise. Every obstacle — from changing perceptions of live music to building a luxury brand in a competitive market — has pushed us to refine our vision, elevate our standards, and grow stronger as artists and entrepreneurs.
We’ve also learned that excellence is a choice. By focusing on intentionality, creativity, and crafting truly unique experiences.
