Daily Inspiration: Meet Angel Fant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Fant.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My creativity and talent for creating were first recognized when I was a little girl. I was always drawing, designing, and making things with my hands. I made doll clothing by hand, and in the second grade, I created my first adult-sized velvet gown—completely by hand, without a sewing machine. I even built my own dollhouse.

Creating has always been a natural part of who I am. What started as a little girl’s curiosity and imagination grew into a lifelong passion for art, fashion, design, and making ideas come to life. Now, at 45 years old, I am still creating, still learning, and still finding new ways to turn my imagination into something tangible.

The list of things I have created over the years could go on and on, but the most important part is that I never stopped creating.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Artists experience the same storms—bad weather, health concerns, financial pressures, and the constant expectation to prove ourselves and convince society that what we create has value. Now, with AI changing the creative landscape, there is also the challenge of keeping up with a rapidly evolving world.

At this stage of my life, however, those things are not what weigh on me the most. My greatest struggle has been missing my family while building a dream and continuing to prove the value of what I do. It has been losing loved ones, becoming an elder, and having to make difficult decisions about how to move forward.

There have been moments when I have missed funerals, missed important family moments, and had to choose between being present for the people I love and continuing to build the life and creative future I believe in.

This chapter of my life has taught me that being an artist is about more than creating beautiful things. It is about sacrifice, resilience, loss, responsibility, and continuing to create even when life itself feels heavy. I am still here, still creating, and still building the dream—one chapter at a time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in creative direction—in other words, I know what belongs and what doesn’t. As the Creative Director of No Punching Bag Fashion Design, I transform ideas into tangible creative visions. My talent is art, but my passion is painting on almost any surface—from clothing and furniture to trees. Drawing is my favorite form of expression, especially working with graphite and no color.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love being at the ocean and grounding myself barefoot.
