Today we’d like to introduce you to Belkis Alejandra San Martin.
Hi Belkis Alejandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Belkis Alejandra San Martin. And I was born in El Progreso, Honduras. Growing up, I always loved art. As a little girl, I would save the money my parents gave me for school so I could buy sketchbooks and colored pencils instead. Drawing and creating made me happy, and it became my favorite way to express myself. Although I never had the opportunity to develop that talent professionally, that creative spirit has always been part of who I am.
Later, I studied Chemistry and Pharmacy in Honduras. While my career was in science, what I truly fell in love with was working with people. I discovered how much I enjoyed helping others, listening to their needs, and making them feel welcome. Customer service became something I was genuinely passionate about.
Life eventually took my husband, Bery Almendares, and me on a completely different journey. We made the difficult decision to leave our home and move to the United States in search of a better future. Like many immigrants, we faced uncertainty, started over from scratch, and worked many different jobs just to move forward. It wasn’t always easy, but every challenge taught us something valuable.
Our lives changed when we moved from Houston to New Jersey. There, God placed incredible people in my path who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. They encouraged me to use my creativity, my love for helping others, and my passion for serving people to build something meaningful.
Looking back, I realize that none of this would have been possible on my own. I’m deeply grateful to God for opening doors I never imagined and for placing incredible people in my life, including Divina Hernandez, who encouraged me to believe in my creativity and officially build Essential Multiservice. I’m also thankful for my parents, Belkis Palma and Alejandro San Martin, my brother, Ariel San Martin, and especially my husband, Bery Almendares, who never let me give up, even when I didn’t believe in myself. Their love, faith, and constant encouragement gave me the courage to keep moving forward and turn a lifelong passion into the business I proudly lead today.
That is how Essential Multiservice was born. It is more than a business to me—it is the result of faith, perseverance, and the kindness of the people who encouraged me to dream again. Today, I have the privilege of helping businesses and entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life through creative design, branding, personalized products, and marketing, and I truly love every part of what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t describe it as a smooth road at all. Being an immigrant comes with challenges that are difficult to explain unless you’ve lived them yourself. Starting over in a new country means leaving behind your comfort zone, your family, your career, and sometimes even a part of your identity. There were moments of uncertainty, exhaustion, financial struggles, and many days when giving up seemed easier than moving forward.
Along the way, I also experienced personal and material losses that deeply impacted my life. Those moments changed me forever, but they also taught me resilience. Looking back now, I realize that every sacrifice, every tear, every setback, and every difficult season helped shape the woman I am today.
I truly believe that challenges don’t come to destroy us—they come to prepare us. They make us stronger, wiser, and more compassionate toward others. Today, when I face a new obstacle, I no longer see it as the end of the road. I see it as another opportunity to grow, to learn, and to trust that every difficult season has a purpose.
If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that perseverance, faith, and a positive attitude can carry you much farther than fear ever will.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Essential Multiservice was born from my passion for creativity and my desire to help others grow. What started as a simple love for designing has become a business dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, and families bring their ideas to life.
We specialize in graphic design, branding, personalized gifts, laser engraving, custom apparel, promotional products, and digital marketing. Whether someone is launching a new business, celebrating a special occasion, or looking for a unique personalized gift, our goal is to create something that tells their story.
But what truly makes Essential Multiservice different isn’t just what we create—it’s how we work with people. I believe every customer deserves to feel heard, valued, and excited about their project. I take the time to understand their vision because I know that behind every logo, every gift, and every design, there’s a dream, a family, or a business that means the world to someone.
For me, Essential Multiservice is more than a brand. It’s a way of serving others through creativity. My greatest satisfaction is seeing a client’s face light up when they receive something that exceeds their expectations or watching a small business proudly use a logo or marketing materials that help them grow.
At the end of the day, our mission is simple: to create with purpose, serve with heart, and help others leave a lasting impression.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see Essential Multiservice growing into a stronger, more established company with multiple locations, allowing us to serve even more communities. I hope to help both small businesses and large companies grow through digital marketing, branding, and high-quality personalized products. I also envision a business that offers an exceptional experience both in person and online, making our services more accessible while continuing to provide the personal attention, creativity, and quality that define our brand.
