Today we’d like to introduce you to Yael VanGruber.
Hi Yael, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been an artist since I was a child—creating, imagining, and exploring has always been a part of who I am. As life went on, I devoted myself to motherhood, which was an incredible journey, but required me to put some of my personal creative pursuits on hold. After a few years, that creative spark returned, and I felt a renewed passion for bringing ideas to life. I realized I could channel this creativity into something bigger, and that’s when I decided to start my online business. Today, I combine my artistic vision with practical solutions, collaborate with clients across the world, and continue growing both personally and professionally—all while honoring the journey that shaped me. It’s been a story of patience, rediscovery, and embracing both creativity and purpose.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth. Balancing motherhood and personal aspirations was a big challenge—there were times I worried my creative work would take a backseat. Running two gallery locations brought its own hurdles, and then transitioning fully online after COVID required learning new ways to reach clients and manage projects virtually. Each challenge, though, taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of staying true to my vision, shaping both the business I run today and who I am professionally and personally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been an artist since childhood, and creativity has always been central to who I am. I specialize in five media—acrylic, oil, watercolor, printmaking, and digital art—with a focus on bold, unique abstract contemporary paintings. My work isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s deeply connected to healing, energy, and light. I create pieces that are meant to inspire, uplift, and resonate emotionally with those who experience them. Early in my career, I ran two gallery locations, which allowed me to connect directly with audiences and share this energy in person. Since COVID, I transitioned fully online, expanding my reach globally and collaborating with clients virtually. I’m most proud of maintaining a distinctive artistic voice that combines creativity, intention, and energy, and what sets me apart is this integration of artistic skill with the intention to heal and uplift through every piece I create.
How do you think about luck?
I think luck has played a role, but it’s often about being ready to embrace it. For example, having the opportunity to open two gallery locations felt like good luck at the time, but it also required preparation, persistence, and a lot of hard work to make it successful. The challenges brought by COVID could be seen as bad luck, but they pushed me to adapt, transition fully online, and reach a much wider, global audience. So in my experience, luck isn’t just chance—it’s about how you respond to opportunities and obstacles, and how you turn them into growth for your life and business.
