Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Sarracino.
Hi Angela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A childhood trip to the salon, leaving with a fresh set of highlights and the iconic “Rachel” cut, sparked a lifelong passion. From that moment, I immersed myself in salon life, sweeping floors, folding towels, and shampooing clients until I earned my cosmetology license alongside my high school diploma. That foundation launched a career spanning over two decades, with advanced training at the Toni & Guy Academy and Arrojo, and work as a MAC Pro makeup artist specializing in bridal beauty. My work has been featured in The Knot NJ, NJ Bride, and NJ Wedding, and on television through David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding and The Rachel Ray Show, with makeup credits including Elle Magazine’s Fashion Week for Maybelline, Miss USA Pageants, and campaigns for PETA, Refinery 29, and Hot Topic. Then at 25, I opened my own salon in a building I now own, to serve both my in-salon clientele and the wedding market. My practice extends beyond beauty into holistic wellness, reflected in my certifications as an Integrated Energy Therapy and Reiki practitioner and my 200-hour yoga teacher training.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road was not always smooth, but each challenge I faced became an opportunity to grow. Opening my own salon meant wearing many hats at once, juggling schedules, finances, and an ever-growing client list. With experience came rhythm, and that rhythm still serves me today.

I am most proud of the long-standing client relationships we’ve maintained since 2012, when I first opened Salon Alchemy. We continue to redefine the beauty and wellness experience as a luxury destination in the heart of North Jersey. We dedicate ourselves to providing an indulgent, transformative experience in an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome to express themselves through their hair and makeup. We specialize in haircutting, custom color, hairstyling, and bridal and event makeup.
