Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Ascolese.
Hi Lisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an inventor, mind, body and spirit. I have been inventing since I was nine years old. My first product that sold on the market was called the “Bosom Buddy Breast Feeding Cape” which sold in retail stores nationwide.
Following that, I was bitten by the inventing bug and went on to develop hundreds of products for herself and for her clients. I hold dozens of patents, trademarks and copyrights. Most of my personal products have appeared on QVC & HSN, such as the Bun Tie Hair accessory, the “Wrap and Store Organizer”, perfect for wrapping gifts, and “Perfect Pockets Organizer”, which generated $6000.00 in less than 30 seconds and kept on selling in Bob’s Kitchen on QVC. Shortly following the success of QVC Perfect Pockets was sold on HSN. Thousands of people. today still use Perfect Pockets in their homes.
I am also a best selling author of my book, “The Inventresss’ Guide to Inventing The Right Way, All Or Nothing, Now Or Never”. I am now on tour with Barnes & Noble sharing my best kept secrets about inventing with the world. My goal is to see every inventor with a great idea and a positive attitude succeed.
My slogan is “Lifting Each other Up Two Hands At A Time And Sometimes You Need A Foot”!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The only way I can answer this question is by answering with the obvious. Nothing worth building a successful project beginning to end is ever smooth all the way!
There have been plenty of bumps and obstacles along the way however I am not the kind of person to let any of those obstacles stop me! I wouldn’t call a “no” an obstacle, I would call it just an opportunity to get better!
You may or may not know that I manufacture products all over the world, and whenever you are manufacturing products and shipping, there are always issues whether it’s in customs or some product being made with lack of integrity or just delayed shipping issues. While I was on Qvc showcasing a product I had to pin it up on the back of a chair which no one was able to see which was a pretty big snag, but I didn’t let it stop me from doing the best job I could and showing it in the best way I could.
Success to me is keeping the ball moving no matter what obstacles try to get in your way!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business focuses on helping inventors and entrepreneurs develop their mental inventions from mind to reality. From a napkin idea all the way to the market place and everything in between. I believe when you think it and believe it, it can be done! My business covers graphic designing, engineering, prototyping, manufacturing, marketing and licensing.
I am also the founder of a non profit organization called “AOWIE”, The Association of Women Inventors And Entrepreneurs.
I have also launched her own shopping network called Inventors Spotlight TV www.inventorssptlightTV.com. And The Inventress Podcast where I showcase, highlight and promote inventors and entrepreneurs and their products.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The greatest key to success to me and for me has been remembering how important it is to be kind to all people and to lift and inspire as many people as I can.
