Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
About Women Who Connect: Women Who Connect was created from a simple belief: meaningful relationships are built through connection, not transactions.
In traditional networking spaces, the focus is often on what you do before who you are. Women Who Connect was designed to shift that experience, creating a space where women are encouraged to arrive as they are, take a breath, grab a drink, a bite to eat, and settle into conversation without the pressure of immediately talking about business.
At Women Who Connect, we believe that when women feel connected first, everything else flows more naturally. We don’t lead with business, we lead with connection. When you truly know someone, working together and referring them becomes natural, authentic, and aligned.

About Our Founder: Lisa Vara is the founder of Women Who Connect and the owner of Luxe Virtual Services, where she supports small business owners with intentional, detail-driven administrative and marketing support. Women Who Connect was created from Lisa’s own desire for something different; a space where networking felt more natural, more supportive, and more aligned with how relationships are truly built. Her approach is rooted in intentionality. From the structure of each gathering to the experience women have when they walk into the room, every detail is thoughtfully considered to ensure that attendees feel comfortable, welcomed, and able to connect in a meaningful way. Lisa believes that when women are given the space to be seen, heard, and supported, both personal and professional growth follow naturally. Through Women Who Connect, she is building a community where relationships come first, and business grows from there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Women Who Connect started from an idea around creating a women’s networking group where women could come and feel seen, heard, and supported. A place where you actually get to know the people you’re meeting and create relationships over just passing your business card to someone.
We launched in October 2025 with 14 attendees & Instagram followers, and have organically grown to an average of 22 showing up for events, and 370+ Instagram followers and counting!
Thankfully, there haven’t been many struggles or obstacles that have stood in our way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the owner and operator of Luxe Virtual Services, as well as the founder of Women Who Connect.
For over 35 years, I’ve supported busy professionals, small business owners, and nonprofits by bringing structure, clarity, and calm to their day-to-day work. I understand firsthand how quickly the details can pile up and how overwhelming it can feel to manage it all alone.
After decades in the administrative world, I created Luxe with a clear purpose: to specialize in supporting small businesses with thoughtful, reliable administrative and social media support. My work is rooted in partnership, trust, and care in order to help clients reclaim their time, reduce overwhelm, and focus on what truly matters in both their business and their life.
I know what it feels like to be pulled in a hundred directions at once — wearing all the hats, managing the details, and wondering when there will be space to truly enjoy your work or your life. Many owners building small businesses carry far more than anyone sees, often believing they have to do it all on their own.
I don’t believe that’s sustainable or necessary. My philosophy is rooted in partnership and support. Luxe Virtual Services exists to be a steady, reliable presence behind the scenes.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe one of the most important qualities behind my success is my ability to build genuine relationships while staying deeply organized and intentional. Whether through Women Who Connect or Luxe Virtual Services, I lead with connection first. I care deeply about making people feel seen, supported, and valued, and I think that authenticity naturally creates trust.
I also believe my attention to detail and consistency have played a major role in my growth. I’m someone who follows through, communicates openly, and puts thought into the experience people have when working with me or attending something I’ve created. Combining heart, organization, and a true passion for helping others has been the foundation of my success.
