Exploring Life & Business with Patricia Dill of Doggie Sweets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Dill.

Hi Patricia , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I had a Petsitting business for 18 years. Covid shut down that business March 12, 2020. I had to pivot as I needed income and created an online treat business in August 2020. September 2020 I came up with a food truck for dogs concept. Bringing treats to food truck festivals all over NJ. May 2022 I built a Pet Cafe in Long Branch that carries a variety of dog/cat products which also goes on the truck as well. Recently, I added a vending machine line for pets to the business. I have them in pet friendly apartment/condo buildings.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never easy to lose what you had in an instant. My entire life was changed since Covid. I had to start over and rebuild. However, life is challenging and I feel successful and blessed to be able to bring healthy products and fun to dogs and their owners. I created a Pet Destination which is rewarding. We want dogs to come in and shop. We want dog owners to have somewhere to go with their dogs. I feel I have accomplished something amazing. We host events every month at the Cafe that sell out each time. Our egg hunt on the beach had 400 dogs. Our Dog Carnival had 250 dogs attend. I’m very appreciative of what I’ve been able to bring to the community.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I created Doggie Sweets I never imagined how it would evolve. We are a Brand! We have our own line of treats, poop bags, self serve ice cream and so much more. I’m proud of our trademark.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Yes, Pet Boss is a podcast I listen to every Monday at the gym. Candace, has helped me navigate my business.
