Today we’d like to introduce you to Willie Johnson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey began on Christmas of 2020. I had asked for a camera so that I would be able to capture moments of my daughter. Santa heard my wish (My Wife) and boy did she delivered. I received a Sony a7iii with a 35mm prime lens. And ever since I was i was hooked. At first I didn’t know much about photography, but. All I knew was a that I loved my camera and I wanted to capture everymoment possible with it.
Growing up, I wasn’t much of a talker. I was the quiet kid. Who had trouble expressing myself. My only outlet was sports.Once that was over , I trouble trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Years later one of my buddies had asked if I could take pictures of his sister’s baby shower. It was then that I figured out what I wanted to do.
I found a mentor (Matt), who had over 20 years of experience, and he brought me along, and taught me the business. Went to YouTube University. And im here today
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Being a full-time photographer, a husband, and a full-time stay-at-home dad comes with many challenges. One of the biggest challenges I face is definitely time management. Trying to make sure I’m there for my wife and children, while also keeping up with emails, communicating with clients, editing their photos, and maintaining a full calendar can be a lot to juggle. It’s definitely a constant balancing act, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love while still being present for my family.

What’s next?
My future plans are to continue growing as a photographer and business owner, while creating a creative space where I can inspire youth through photography, music, art, and self-expression. I also hope to capture unforgettable moments from the sidelines of sports teams and use my creativity to inspire others.
