Hi Caroline, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I opened Townbank Tranquility Spa in September 2022 as a licensed massage therapist with a simple goal: to help people in my community manage chronic pain and prioritize self-care. What started as a small, personal vision has steadily grown over the past few years. Our team has expanded, and so have the services we offer, allowing us to support more clients in a meaningful and personalized way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like the tides, business has its natural highs and lows. In our area, the busy season runs from May through October, when tourism brings a welcomed boost to the local economy. The quieter months can be more challenging, but they also give us the opportunity to focus on and truly value our loyal local clientele—the foundation that keeps us going year-round.

At Townbank Tranquility Spa, we specialize in massage therapy and skincare services, with a strong focus on personalization. What sets us apart is our atmosphere and approach. We are a small business that prioritizes creating a warm, inviting space where each client feels seen and cared for.
We intentionally schedule our services to allow time for collaboration, so we can understand each client’s goals. Whether that’s pain relief through massage therapy or achieving skincare results with a customized facial. We don’t believe in rushing appointments or treating people like numbers. Our goal is for every client to feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident in the care they’re receiving.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the wellness industry continuing to grow as more people recognize the importance of self-care and preventative health. For us, that means continuing to invest in education and training so we can refine our skills and better serve our clients.
As we grow, our goal is to expand our team and services thoughtfully—so we can accommodate more people without losing the quality and personalized experience that defines our business.
