Hidden Gems: Meet Lori LoManto of Global Motivational Counseling Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lori LoManto.

Hi Lori, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Building Global Motivational Counseling Center has been one of the most meaningful achievements of my life. Now three years strong, my private practice represents far more than a career milestone—it is the result of a deeply personal calling. My decision to enter the counseling field was rooted in my own life experiences. Having faced challenges and trauma from childhood into young adulthood, I often found myself searching for understanding, support, and a safe space to process it all. Those moments not only shaped me, but also revealed the life-changing impact of unconditional love and support by others and family.

That realization led me to become a licensed counselor, with a desire to be that support for others. Helping people is not just my profession—it is my passion. Whether working with children, adolescents, adults, or those later in life, I believe everyone deserves a space where their story is acknowledged and their voice matters. I am especially grateful to see the stigma around counseling continue to shift. More than ever, people are recognizing that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and that having someone to talk to can greatly improve overall well-being.

Recently, I took another step in my journey by writing my first book, “Finding the Eyes to See”. I felt called to share my thoughts, experiences, and perspective—not only to help others, but as a therapeutic part of my own recovery. Writing became a powerful outlet for healing, allowing me to process my past and continue to find clarity in my story. What started as something deeply personal has led to another chapter that is about to be launched.

From that book, I was inspired to expand my mission even further through Mojo Find Yours. This initiative is about helping others reconnect with their purpose, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward living their best lives. It is a continuation of the work I am so passionate about—guiding others from awareness to action.

Through every step of this journey, my purpose remains clear: to support, uplift, and empower others toward their recovery so they may embrace and live their best life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Beyond the life challenges I share in my recent book “Finding the Eyes to See”, entrepreneurship within a private therapy practice brings its own unique demands. As therapists, much of our day is spent behind closed doors supporting clients, leaving limited time to nurture and grow the business side of our work consistently. I’ve learned the importance of intentionally scheduling time each week for both self-care and focused business development. This not only helps prevent burnout but also reduces that overwhelming feeling that comes from unattended tasks and ideas. Equally important is surrounding myself with strong, trustworthy associates who align with my vision and actively support the growth of my practice and future opportunities.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
When I reflect on my childhood, so much of my joy is rooted in the simple, meaningful moments spent with the people I loved most.
One of my favorite memories begins at just six years old, playing sports through my local recreation program. My dad was always my coach, which made it even more special. I naturally gravitated toward basketball and softball, not just because I loved the game, but because of everything that came with it—the friendships, the laughter, and the sense of being part of something bigger than myself.

Sports taught me early lessons in leadership, teamwork, and resilience, but more than that, they created moments I’ll never forget. Piling into the back of a car or truck with my teammates after a game, heading out for pizza and ice cream—those were the moments that felt like pure happiness. It wasn’t about winning or losing; it was about connection, camaraderie, and shared joy. It was a time when friends felt like family, and family was always right there beside me.

Another memory that brings me just as much joy also centers around my dad, but in a quieter, more personal way. We would go to Corvette car shows together—something that became our thing. Before we even arrived, we had our own little tradition. We would stop at the “day-old bread stores,” those small discounted snack shops, and secretly pick out extra sweet treats. It was our little secret—something no one else in the family knew about.

Looking back, it wasn’t really about the snacks or even the car shows. It was about the time, the connection, and the feeling of having something special just between us. Those moments made me feel seen, valued, and deeply connected.

The common thread in all of these memories is simple yet powerful: togetherness. Whether it was on the field surrounded by teammates or in quiet moments with my dad, joy came from connection, shared experiences, and feeling like I belonged. Even now, those memories remind me of what truly matters—relationships, laughter, and creating meaningful moments with the people around us. They shaped not only what brings me joy, but also how I show up in the world today—valuing connection, building community, and finding happiness in the little things.
