Hidden Gems: Meet Michael Vargulin of Mihasik Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Vargulin.

Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I come from Russian and Belarussian-Jewish parents that immigrated to the United States just a few decades ago. Life has not always been easy but seeing how they overcame obstacles lit a fire in me to succeed and build something of my own.

Always drawn to the digital realm from a young age, I found a passion in digital marketing and making events, people, and places come to life. From this passion sprouted a need to succeed, one that allowed me to open and successfully grow a marketing agency at the age of 21.

In parallel with building my agency, I juggled completing university, rising to Head of Marketing for an out-of-home advertising software company, and working in the corporate eCommerce space.

There have been countless obstacles; all serving as learning lessons and seeds that have allowed me to blossom into the determined, passionate, and hardworking person I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance all of my professional, academic, and personal responsibilities. Time management has never been as valuable as it is now for me.

I’ve always been very self-driven, which helped me grow quickly, but it also meant I had to learn that sometimes the hard way; navigate large personalities, delegate, and build real partnerships. In industries like marketing, where there’s a lot of noise, it’s easy to become overly guarded.

Another challenge has been navigating growth at a relatively young age. Being in rooms where expectations are high and needing to perform at that level consistency has given me the opportunity to operate a higher level than I ever thought possible. The pressure forced me to become more disciplined, structured, and intentional with how I communicate and lead.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I currently work across both corporate and entrepreneurial spaces.

On one side, I’m involved in eCommerce, digital strategy and marketing leadership, focusing on optimizing content, improving performance, and aligning brand presence across major platforms.

On the other side, I run my own marketing agency, where I work with clients on growth strategy, content, SEO, and digital positioning. My approach is less about surface-level marketing and more about building systems that actually drive results; whether that’s increasing revenue, improving visibility, or strengthening brand identity.

Long-term, I’m focused on moving further into strategy and consulting, helping businesses make smarter, more scalable decisions.
