Hi Rhona, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a proud mom of 5, I’m thankful for all the lessons and blessings that brought me to this point in my life.
I’m the chief dreamer of Parent Matterz which focuses on Exposure and Opportunities for youth and families; especially those historically excluded.
We helped thousands of youth navigate the career and college process via multiple career and college readiness programs in NJ, NY and on Martha’s Vineyard.
This was all created after my 5 children obtained close to $1 million in scholarships.
I recently published a book called “How To Raise Kids Who Will Thank You Later”.
School districts have inquired about purchasing my book for their parents and I’m a speaker at The Dream Deferred Conference in Philadelphia March 2026 hosted by the College Board. I was also inducted into the NJ Black Woman’s Collective and the Goldman Sachs Black Women in Business chohort.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, everyday is a struggle but my passion for this work drives me to push past my fears, anxieties, imposter syndrome, fatigue loneliness and being overwhelmed at times.
The text, emails, phone calls, gifts and more keep me going.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Ask for what you want and need out loud, to the universe and to your spiritual mentor.
Surround yourself with like minded people. Ask people to mentor you, have coffee or tea to chat.
Most successful people want to help. They are just waiting to be asked.
Be fearless because what do you have to lose if someone says NO?
