Hi Holly , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Business story
Owning my own business was my dream and still is. I never really knew what I wanted to do l. I received my masters in social work in 2013 and realized as rewarding the work is I wanted more. I still am a part time social worker. I knew I DIDNT WANT TO WORK AN HELP SOMEONE ELSE ACCOMPLISH THEIR DREAMS!!
I wanted My freedom and be able to make my own hours
Here is my business story
My name is Holly and I became a business owner because I was wrongfully fired from a MLM company. I was top in sales, winning trips and had a huge team. I was even about to quit my job and then the company went under. They were bought out by our biggest competitors who in less than a month fired me due to a silly rule about having no men at events that I was Unaware of at the time. Considering this was a huge source of income I was a complete mess. I couldn’t get out of bed for a week and didn’t know what was next. Finally I decided to take my anger An do something about it and started my own small business . I had many people backing me but also many people who didn’t think I could do it. It took me a year to figure out how the heck to get a business going. I did a ton of research and Luckily i found some free business courses to get me started. Then on February 22, 2017 Parties By Bellas opened their doors. It was a hard year and I hit many road blocks which I can get in some more details if you’d like. But over all over 6 years in business I can’t imagine doing anything else. We are in 5 states and have over 30 consultants. I started my journey going to school for my masters which I have a degree in social work and had a great 9-5 job, but it wasn’t for me. January 2018 I left my full time job and have been doing this full time ever since. It’s been a long road but the corporate road isn’t for everyone and sometimes it takes a loss to realize this. Being in the business I am there are daily struggles due to the lack of an open minded society. I am constantly being told No and having to explain my business in extreme detail. Luckily the word No motivates me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! In this type of business, you have to be resilient and just be OK with hearing no and not getting upset
We still live in a time where sex and sexual education is seen as wrong or bad and people are still very much embarrassed to talk about sex and ask questions
