Life & Work with Amanda Gyetvay of Monmouth County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Gyetvay.

Hi Amanda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always the one carrying around a disposable camera (and then digital camera) capturing family gatherings, friends, everyday moments. I took classes as I got older, but never thought my love for it could become a business!

In 2020, I lost my job during COVID, and everything shifted. What could have felt like a setback became the moment I fully surrendered and decided to trust God with my future. I chose to take a chance on myself, not because it felt safe, but because I felt called. I never wanted to have those “what-if” moments when I was older.

What started as photography quickly evolved. I began working with small businesses and entrepreneurs who didn’t just need content, they needed clarity, visibility, and strategy. That led me into videography, brand storytelling, and eventually digital course production, helping experts turn their knowledge into scalable online programs.

During that growth, I opened My Room Studios in Marlboro, NJ, a creative space where entrepreneurs, families, and creators could bring their visions to life. That chapter was beautiful and stretching. And when the time came to close that season, it required just as much faith and resilience as opening it did!

Letting go of the studio wasn’t a failure, it was refinement. It reminded me that God often prunes before He multiplies. That pivot strengthened my leadership and sharpened my vision.

Today, Amanda Kristy Media serves both businesses and families. We produce brand content and online courses, and we also capture life’s most meaningful moments such as proposals, maternity sessions, events, pet photography, and more. At the core of it all, it’s about preserving stories and building legacies.

My faith in Jesus is the foundation of everything I do. Entrepreneurship requires courage, and courage requires trust. Every pivot, every opportunity, every closed and opened door has deepened my reliance on Him.

One of the greatest gifts of this journey has been the ability to give back, especially in the animal rescue space. Supporting rescue organizations and incorporating pet photography into my work allows me to merge purpose with passion in a way that feels deeply aligned.

What started with a disposable camera has grown into a multi-dimensional media company, but the heart hasn’t changed. I still love capturing stories. I just get to do it now with greater intention, greater impact, and greater faith.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has NOT been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t trade the lessons!!

Losing my job during COVID was the first major turning point. Stepping into entrepreneurship without a safety net was VERY scary. There were seasons of uncertainty, financial pressure, and moments where I questioned if I was capable of building something sustainable.

Opening My Room Studios was another bold step. Building a physical space required leadership, risk, and responsibility on a completely different level. And later, making the decision to close that chapter required even more courage. Walking away from something you built is not easy, however, I’ve learned that obedience and growth often require pivots.

Entrepreneurship stretches you in ways you can’t prepare for. You learn resilience, adaptability, and how to lead even when you’re still figuring things out. There were slow seasons, scaling challenges, and moments of doubt, but each obstacle refined my vision instead of breaking it.

My faith in God has been the constant through it all. When things felt uncertain, I leaned into trust. When doors closed, I believed He was redirecting. I’ve learned that challenges aren’t roadblocks… they’re preparation.

Every struggle has strengthened my leadership, sharpened my strategy, and deepened my reliance on God. And because of that, I operate now with more clarity, confidence, and peace than ever before!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I lead Amanda Kristy Media, a creative media company that blends storytelling with strategy.

We work with both businesses and families. On the business side, we specialize in brand photography, videography, and digital course production, helping entrepreneurs turn their expertise into powerful content and scalable online programs. On the personal side, we capture life’s most meaningful moments, proposals, maternity sessions, events, pet photography, and more.

What we’re known for is creating content with intention. We don’t just show up with a camera. We think about visibility, positioning, long-term growth, and how each piece of content fits into a bigger picture.

My team specialize in helping entrepreneurs move from “posting content” to building authority. That often means producing evergreen online courses, brand videos, or strategic content that allows them to scale beyond trading time for money.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the visuals, it’s the impact. I’ve watched clients gain confidence, increase revenue, launch courses, and step into new levels of visibility because they finally had content that reflected who they truly are.

I’m also incredibly proud of the heart behind my work. Being able to support animal rescue initiatives and incorporate pet photography into my business allows me to blend purpose with profession in a meaningful way.

What sets us apart is the combination of creativity and systems. We understand the art of capturing moments, but also understand business. Every shoot, video, or course is designed not just to look beautiful, but to build something sustainable.

At the end of the day, we don’t just capture stories… we help build brands and preserve legacies!

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is knowing that my work carries meaning beyond the surface.

I love capturing moments, whether it’s a proposal, maternity session, brand launch, event, pet session, and more, because I know those images and videos become part of someone’s story. They’re memories and milestones. That’s something I never take lightly.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is helping people feel confident in front of the camera. So many clients show up nervous or unsure, and watching that shift and seeing them relax, step into themselves, and walk away feeling empowered is truly incredibly fulfilling. Confidence changes everything, and I love being part of that transformation!

My faith in God is the foundation of my joy. Entrepreneurship has highs and lows, but my peace doesn’t come from business outcomes, it comes from knowing who I’m anchored to. Trusting His timing and watching Him guide every season gives me a deeper sense of alignment and purpose.

Outside of work, I find so much happiness in movement and simplicity…working out, Pilates, long hikes, time at the farm, and being with my fur babies. Those moments reset me. They remind me to slow down and enjoy the life I’m building.

For me, happiness is about alignment, using the gifts God gave me, serving others well, and living fully in every season!
