Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ FREX.
Hi DJ, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m DJ Frex, also known as “The X Factor DJ,” representing Jersey and Philly. My journey started with a love for music and the energy it brings to people. I wanted to create those moments where the right song comes on and the whole room connects.
Over time, I’ve worked on developing my sound, reading different crowds, and building the DJ Frex name through clubs, private events, and mobile DJing. Every event gives me another opportunity to sharpen my craft and leave people with something to remember.
Getting to where I am today takes consistency, building relationships, and showing up ready to deliver. I put my personality into what I do, and I want people to feel that whenever I’m behind the booth.
I’m proud of what I’m building, and I still have more I want to accomplish. My goal is to keep reaching new crowds, growing my brand, and giving people a reason to say, “We need DJ Frex at the next one.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been getting my name out there and turning people’s attention into consistent support and bookings. There’s a lot of talent in Jersey and Philly, so building my own identity as DJ Frex takes time and work.
Social media has been a challenge too. You can put a lot into your craft and still feel like your online presence doesn’t reflect it. I’m learning how to promote myself while staying true to who I am.
Those struggles push me to keep improving, build relationships, and stay consistent even when the results take longer than I’d like. I’m still growing, but I’m proud that I keep showing up and putting the work in.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in hip-hop, R&B, and throwbacks, bringing energy to clubs, weddings, and private events. I’m most proud of building my name and creating moments people remember. My personality, versatility, and ability to read a crowd are what set me apart.
