Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadian.
Hi Kadian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started after I received my dual Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Kean University. I fell in love with the field of mental health so I further my education by obtaining my Masters of Arts in Community and Agency Counseling also at Kean University. After years of training, I became a License Professional Counselor (LPC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). To further my career, I am currently enrolled at Walden University as a PhD student in Clinical Psychology.
Over the past 23 years, I’ve worked in various mental health settings. I obtained experience working
with adults and adolescents in various areas, including crisis intervention services, hospital settings, in-home therapy and outpatient services. Although I enjoyed working for different organizations, in 2016 I decided to develop my own mental health agency, Epiphany Relationship and Family Counseling, LLC. I started out as an in-home provider that employed a few contractors to provide in-home therapy and behavioral assistant services. In 2018, I found the need to expand services by adding an outpatgient component to my agency. The outpatient component provide individual, family, couples and group therapy.
However, once we all were affected with the COVID 19 pandemic, I had to make changes to my agency were we all provided services virtually. As a result, I became a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider. Currently, my agency still provide in-home and telehealth services. I recently started a new venture where entreprenuership and mental health meets. In this component of the agency, I provide coaching to entreprenuers to address the stressors of enteprenuership as well as provide guidance to assist them to successfully grow their business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Furthering my education and running a business require great scarifices. Being a parent and being able to maintain a work life balance, as well as, the fiancial stressors have cause struggles. However, these struggles were worth overcoming. Being a entrepreunuer enables me to have freedom with scheduling and flexibility in how I operate my agency.

At Epiphany Relationship and Family Counseling we assist individuals and families to gain insight into their reality and provide them with the necessary tools to cope with their day to day. Our services are client- centered and strength- based. We believe in working with the individual at his/her current stage in life and working with the family as a unit. Our experience team utilize various treatment modalities in order to accomplish the therapeutic goals.
