Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Capelli.
Hi Lindsey , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A week into my freshman year of high school, my mother sat me down and gently asked, “What do you want to do with the rest of your life?”
I remember feeling caught off guard. I was still trying to figure out my locker combination and find my place, not map out my future. Looking back, I can see how that moment quietly planted a seed.
I’ve always felt a natural pull toward helping others. Over time, that feeling grew into a deeper calling, leading me to psychology and eventually to the dream of creating a space of my own. I feel incredibly grateful that this path found me and that I followed it.
Before opening my practice, I began my work at Princeton House Behavioral Health, now part of Penn Medicine. That experience shaped me in profound ways, deepening my understanding of trauma and opening my eyes to the powerful connection between the mind and body.
In 2015, I opened Living Well Counseling Center, just six months before getting married. As I reflect, I notice how often I step into growth right before major life transitions, including marriage and becoming a mother. To me, that speaks to a deep desire to keep growing, learning, and showing up fully in both my life and my work.
Today, I strive to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and truly centered around each person who walks through the door. I believe therapy is a place to slow down, to be seen and understood, and to begin healing from within.
My role is to bring my knowledge, presence, and care into that space, supporting each person as they reconnect with themselves and move toward lasting healing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has my business journey been a smooth road? In many ways, yes, but like any path rooted in growth, it has evolved over time. With each step forward and desire to expand, I’ve continued to stretch myself and refine what this work means to me.
I’m someone who approaches decisions with care and intention, often thinking things through deeply. That thoughtfulness has guided me well, supporting each phase of growth and expansion along the way.
A few years ago, I stepped into a new chapter, moving into a space that truly brought my vision to life. That moment was made possible through the support of my husband, family, and friends. It reminded me that it really does take a village to turn a dream into something real.
One of the greatest strengths I’ve developed over time is learning to ask for help, to reach out, to lean on others, and to trust that I don’t have to do it all alone. Embracing support and building a team has not only strengthened me personally but has also allowed the practice to continue growing in meaningful and sustainable ways.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Living Well Counseling Center?
At the heart of my work is a genuine love for learning, growing, and staying connected to what truly helps people heal. That commitment allows me to show up in a way that feels thoughtful, grounded, and deeply attuned to each person I work with.
My goal isn’t simply to help someone feel better, it’s to support them in finding their way back to themselves.
I specialize in trauma healing across the lifespan, with a strong focus on the mind-body connection. My work gently integrates somatic approaches that allow both the brain and body to process, release, and reorganize what’s been held. This creates space for deeper, more lasting healing. I also work with anxiety, mood, and personality-related challenges.
What sets Living Well apart is the way we hold the whole person in mind. Our work has always been rooted in evidence-based care while honoring the emotional, physical, and relational parts of each individual; long before “holistic” became a buzzword. I believe in keeping things simple, real, and meaningful. What you’ll find here is genuine care, presence, and attention.
Most importantly, I want people to know that taking the first step can feel scary. Our past, our present, and even our own inner blocks can make it hard to begin. But with the right support, that step can become the start of something truly meaningful.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
That’s an easy one… spending time with my family at The Farm. It’s my happy place open fields, clear skies, and the timothy grass blowing in the wind. I’ve loved every season there, and now I get to keep building those memories with my kids.
