Today we’d like to introduce you to Yensy Graham.
Hi Yensy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My company, Bridging Bonds, came together during one of the most unexpected and life-changing seasons of my life. I was going through a major personal transition, and it became very clear that I needed to create more security and stability for myself and my future. That moment pushed me to stop waiting and fully commit. What started as a hard pivot quickly turned into action. In the span of just a few days, I found an office space, built my website, and opened my doors within a week. Looking back, it really feels like something that was built out of the ashes of a difficult time.
My entrepreneurship journey did not begin with a perfect business plan or some polished strategy. It came from necessity. Actually, most of my biggest decisions in my life have happened during pivotal, challenging seasons, and this was one of them. I found myself at a crossroads: either start over or build something new that could carry me into the future. I chose to build. A big part of that drive comes from my family. I come from a family of immigrants, and I watched my father, who never had a college degree, build his own business through hard work and by leaning into what he was good at. He worked with what he had, trusted his strengths, and created a life for our family through persistence and sacrifice. It showed me what it means to keep going, to believe in your ability to create something better, and to take ownership of your future.
Now, two years later, what started as a solo practice has grown into something I am truly proud of, and I am getting ready to expand into a small group practice. It has been a journey built on faith, grit, and learning as I go, and I think that is what makes it so meaningful to me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Entrepreneurship comes with a lot of learning, a lot of adjustment, and a lot of getting comfortable with the ups and downs. When things ebb and flow, it can be really easy to second-guess yourself, and I have definitely had moments where I had to battle self-doubt and remind myself to stay the course.
I think that has been one of the biggest parts of the journey: learning how to trust myself even when things feel uncertain. You cannot get too comfortable, and you cannot really afford to settle. There always has to be a willingness to keep learning, keep improving, and keep growing into the next version of yourself and your business.
One of the biggest challenges for me, but also one of the most rewarding parts, was building my brand. That process made me really stop and look inward. I had to figure out who I am, who I want to reach, what topics matter most to me, and what kind of community I want to create. It was not just about starting a business. It was also about understanding myself more clearly and learning how to show up in a way that feels authentic.
That was especially important for me because I naturally lean more type A. I like structure, direction, and having things mapped out. So leaning into the more creative and personal side of building a brand pushed me in a different way. I had to really think about what I wanted my brand to feel like, what kind of environment I wanted to create, who I connect with most in my work, and what makes me different. Then I had to fully embrace that with confidence and really own it.
At the same time, I put a lot into learning the business side of things. I read financial books, listened to podcasts, took free marketing trainings, and went through courses that helped me step into the mindset of a business owner. That part actually felt really exciting to me because it challenged me to grow, and my type A side loved having something new to learn and build.
A lot of the challenges pushed me to become more confident, more self-aware, and more grounded in what I am building.
As you know, we’re big fans of Bridging Bonds. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At the heart of my counseling practice, Bridging Bonds, is a deep commitment to helping couples, young adults and individuals navigate some of the most painful and life-altering seasons they may ever face. My work focuses heavily on infidelity recovery, a subject that I hold especially close. What draws me to this work is not only the pain involved, but also the possibility that exists on the other side of it: helping people pick up the pieces, make sense of what has happened, and move toward healing, clarity, and renewal.
Infidelity is one of those topics that quietly touches far more people than many realize. It is widely talked about, deeply felt, and still, in many ways, mysterious. There are countless theories about what leads to an affair, why it happens, or what breaks down in a relationship before it occurs. Every story is different, but the aftermath often carries the same emotional weight: shock, grief, confusion, a loss of safety, and an overwhelming sense of isolation.
My practice is built around reducing that isolation, silence, secret. I want people to know they do not have to suffer silently or figure it all out on their own. Whether I am working with a couple trying to rebuild after betrayal or an individual trying to regain their footing, my goal is to help create a path forward that feels grounded, honest, and hopeful.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and before building this practice, I spent four to five years working in a crisis unit with families. That experience shaped the way I approach healing. In crisis work, so much of the process is about helping people find stability when their world no longer feels secure. I see a very similar need in betrayal trauma work. In both spaces, people are trying to understand what has happened, gather themselves, and begin again.
What sets me apart is the way I show up in the room. I take this work seriously, but I also bring warmth, humor, and personality into the process. I believe healing does not only happen through pain and reflection. It also happens through feeling safe enough to be fully human. That means making room for honesty, connection, and even moments of lightness in the middle of very heavy experiences.
I am most proud that my practice truly reflects who I am and how I want people to feel when they enter this space. It is rooted in authenticity, depth, and compassion. More than anything, I want readers to know that my brand is not simply about therapy as a service. It is about creating a place where people feel seen, supported, and gently guided as they work through the aftermath of betrayal and begin to believe that something meaningful can still be rebuilt.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is growing up in Florida and spending summers at Disney World with my family. When I think back on it, I remember so much color, music, and excitement. It felt like stepping into a completely different world, one filled with imagination, wonder, and a kind of joy that felt bigger than everyday life.
The parades were always my favorite. I loved the dancing, the songs, the smiles, and the way everyone seemed completely swept up in the moment. There was something so beautiful about that kind of childlike awe, where everything felt full of possibility and magic. That feeling has stayed with me.
Looking back, I think that these feelings connects so much to how I show up with my clients and in my brand today. Even though my work is rooted in depth and helping people through difficult seasons, I also really value warmth, personality, creativity, and a sense of lightness. I want the space I create to feel human and inviting, where people can breathe, feel seen, and reconnect with hope. In a lot of ways, that same appreciation for wonder, emotion, and meaningful experience still shows up in who I am and how I connect with others.
