Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Squicciarini.
Hi Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For a long time, I didn’t realize I wasn’t choosing my life.
I moved through the world focused on what would keep the peace and make things easier and more comfortable for everyone else. I was good at it. I spent so much time making sure others were okay that I never stopped to notice what I liked, what I wanted, or what felt true to me. I compared myself quietly. I looked outside myself for cues. I didn’t even realize how automatic it had become.
That way of being didn’t start with me.
In my family, keeping the peace was a form of love. The women were strong and capable, often holding everything together without asking for much in return. You stayed steady. You didn’t take up too much space. I learned that rhythm early.
Years later, a medical diagnosis stopped me in my tracks. It wasn’t just about my body. It made me start questioning how I had been living and how much I had been carrying. That questioning opened the door.
Sound healing came first, followed by Reiki. For two years, I received weekly Reiki sessions, not to fix anything, but to understand myself. During those sessions, memories would surface and unravel like threads of yarn, revealing wounds and stories I had carried without realizing they weren’t mine.
For the past three years, I have been releasing those stories. Stories of scarcity, comparison, jealousy, and unworthiness. Stories that said rest had to be earned and that worth came from working harder.
As those stories fell away, I began to meet myself underneath them.
Sunshine for the Soul grew from that place. Through sound baths, private sessions, and intimate group experiences, I create spaces where people can soften, feel safe, and reconnect with their inner voice.
I don’t guide from perfection. I guide from presence and vulnerability. From showing up, failing, and getting back up anyway. Because that is where people actually find you. Not when you are tied up in perfection, which is an illusion, but when you are here and real.
When you stop living by inherited rules, comparison fades, the noise quiets, and your life finally becomes your own.
And that remembering changes everything.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of my biggest challenges has been learning to trust myself after years of not being encouraged to do so. I grew up reading the room, taking care of others, and measuring my worth through responsibility rather than intuition. That pattern followed me into adulthood and into my work.
Being pushed out of my family’s business was a turning point that challenged me in ways I didn’t expect. It shook my confidence and made me question my value, not just professionally but personally. I spent years rebuilding my sense of self and learning how to separate my worth from other people’s approval or expectations.
Another challenge has been allowing myself to be visible in my work. Sharing my voice, my story, and my healing journey didn’t come naturally to me. Sensitivity was something I had learned to hide, not lead with. Choosing to build a business rooted in softness, presence, and emotional safety meant unlearning old beliefs about what strength is supposed to look like.
There have also been practical challenges. Starting over later in life, navigating uncertainty, and trusting a nontraditional path required patience and faith. I had to learn how to move forward without forcing outcomes and to let my business grow in a way that felt aligned rather than rushed.
The biggest obstacle, though, was learning to feel safe in my own body and emotions. Once I began healing my nervous system and listening to my inner guidance, everything else started to shift.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Sunshine for the Soul, I offer sound journeys and private sessions that invite people to slow down, soften, and come back into relationship with themselves. My work centers on nervous system regulation, emotional grounding, and creating a sense of inner safety, especially for those who have spent much of their lives holding it together.
I work primarily with crystal alchemy sound bowls and gentle guided meditation. Each session is intuitive and unfolds in the moment, guided by what I feel in the room rather than a set structure. While I am trained in energy based practices including Reiki and the Akashic Records, my greatest guide is presence. I listen deeply to the body, the breath, and the subtle emotional cues and allow the experience to meet people exactly where they are.
Sound is the language I return to again and again because it bypasses the mind and speaks directly to the nervous system. It creates a space where effort can fall away and the body can remember how to rest, regulate, and release. Clients often leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded, with a sense of coming home to themselves.
I offer both group sound baths and private sessions, in person and online. What I am most proud of is the way people soften in my spaces, how guardedness melts, breath deepens, and something long held finally loosens. What sets my work apart is its gentleness and attunement. There is no fixing, no forcing, no expectation to be anything other than what you are.
At its heart, my work is about holding a compassionate, steady space where healing can unfold naturally and where people are reminded that they do not need to be repaired, only remembered.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One thing I think is important to share is that this work didn’t come from having everything figured out. It came from learning how to slow down, listen, and trust myself after years of doing the opposite.
I didn’t start this path feeling confident or clear. I started it feeling unsure, sensitive, and disconnected from my own inner voice. What changed over time was my willingness to stay present and keep listening, even when it felt uncomfortable.
That ongoing practice of listening, softening, and trusting inner guidance continues to shape both my work and my life. I don’t believe healing is about becoming someone new. I believe it’s about remembering who you are and learning to feel safe being that person.
