Today we’d like to introduce you to Talana Bard-Allen.
Hi Talana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started from a place of deep personal transformation. Before becoming a speaker, coach, and founder, I walked through seasons of low self-esteem, trauma, depression, and feeling stuck without direction. I know firsthand what it feels like to want more for your life but not know how to break free from the patterns holding you back. That experience became the foundation of everything I do today.
I began studying psychology, counseling, personal development, and Biblical principles because I was determined to heal, grow, and become the woman God created me to be. As my life began to change, people started coming to me for advice, prayer, and guidance. What started as helping a few women quickly grew into speaking, teaching, hosting prayer calls, and creating transformational programs.
That momentum led to the creation of Lady T Talks Empowerment Ministries and the Transforming Me Community — a movement focused on helping people renew their mindset, strengthen their faith, heal from past wounds, and step into their purpose. Over the years, this has expanded into coaching programs, prayer academies, conferences, courses, journals, devotionals, and a full ecosystem of resources designed to help people truly transform their lives from the inside out.
Today, I serve as a motivational speaker, empowerment coach, and community builder, helping women—especially those over 40—break limiting beliefs, rebuild confidence, deepen their prayer life, and walk boldly in their calling. My mission is simple: equip people with practical tools, spiritual strategies, and mindset shifts so they can become the best version of themselves and live the life they were created to live.
What began as my personal healing journey has grown into a purpose-driven platform dedicated to helping others experience their own transformation. And honestly, this is just the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all — it has definitely not been a smooth road. Like most purpose-driven journeys, it’s been full of growth, stretching, and learning in real time.
One of the biggest challenges early on was overcoming my own mindset. Before I could help anyone else transform their lives, I had to do the deep inner work myself. That meant confronting past trauma, rebuilding my confidence, healing from low self-esteem, and breaking cycles of self-doubt and limiting beliefs. Personal growth sounds inspiring, but in reality it requires discipline, honesty, and a lot of uncomfortable growth.
Another challenge has been building something from the ground up without a roadmap. I didn’t inherit a platform or a large audience — I had to build everything step by step. That meant learning business, branding, marketing, technology, and content creation while still serving people and showing up consistently. There were seasons where I was doing everything myself, investing in my own growth, and trusting the vision even when results were slow.
Imposter syndrome and fear showed up too. When you step into public speaking, coaching, and leadership, you’re constantly stretching beyond your comfort zone. There were moments of wondering if I was doing enough, reaching enough people, or moving fast enough. But I learned that growth doesn’t come from comfort — it comes from obedience, consistency, and persistence.
Another real challenge has been balancing the heart of ministry with the structure of business. I care deeply about helping people, but building sustainable programs, pricing services, and scaling a brand requires strong boundaries and strategic thinking. Learning how to serve people well while also building a sustainable organization has been a major lesson.
Looking back, every obstacle has shaped me. The struggles strengthened my voice, clarified my mission, and made me more equipped to help others navigate their own transformation. None of it was easy, but all of it was necessary.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Lady T Talks Empowerment Ministries is a faith-based personal development and transformation organization focused on helping people become the best version of themselves from the inside out. At its core, the ministry blends mindset coaching, Biblical principles, prayer, and practical life strategies to help individuals heal, grow, and step confidently into their purpose.
Through this platform, I serve as a speaker, empowerment coach, and community builder. I specialize in helping women—especially those over 40—overcome limiting beliefs, rebuild confidence, strengthen their prayer life, and create real, sustainable life change. Many of the women I work with have spent years pouring into others while neglecting themselves, and my work helps them rediscover who they are, what they want, and how to move forward with clarity and courage.
One of the things that sets the ministry apart is the integration of faith, psychology, and practical strategy. We don’t just talk about inspiration—we focus on transformation. That shows up through coaching programs, the Transforming Me Community, prayer academies, conferences, devotionals, journals, and structured personal development programs designed to help people take action and see results.
Our community is a major part of the brand. We’ve built a supportive environment centered on encouragement, accountability, prayer, and personal growth. People don’t just receive information—they experience connection, support, and ongoing guidance as they work toward their goals.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building a platform that grew from personal healing into a movement that now helps others heal and grow. Everything we create—from programs to products—is designed to equip people with tools they can use in everyday life.
What I want readers to know is that this work is about real change. It’s about helping people move from feeling stuck to living with confidence, clarity, and purpose. The mission is to equip people with mindset shifts, spiritual strategies, and practical tools so they can walk boldly into the life they were created to live.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding the right mentor and building strong connections has been a huge part of my growth, and I always tell people it’s not just about finding someone successful — it’s about finding someone aligned.
For me, mentorship works best when there is genuine connection and shared values. Skills can be taught, strategies can be learned, but alignment makes the relationship sustainable. When your core beliefs, vision, and worldview are similar, communication is easier, trust develops faster, and the guidance you receive feels authentic and applicable to your life.
My biggest advice is to start with alignment first, then add the rest. Look for someone you genuinely connect with, someone whose values and beliefs resonate with you, and someone whose life and work reflect the direction you want to grow in. When that foundation is in place, the mentorship becomes much more impactful.
Another lesson I’ve learned is that mentorship doesn’t always happen in a formal way. Sometimes it starts by learning from someone’s books, teachings, or content. Showing up consistently, engaging, and investing in your own growth naturally opens doors for deeper relationships over time.
Networking, in general, works best when it comes from a place of authenticity instead of trying to impress people. Focus on building real relationships, serving where you can, and staying consistent in your own work. People connect with consistency, integrity, and genuine interest.
One practical tip is to be willing to invest in mentorship. Whether that’s time, energy, or finances, investing shows commitment and creates accountability. Growth accelerates when you’re intentional about learning from people who are already where you want to be.
The biggest takeaway is this: look for connection and alignment first, then build the relationship from there. When the foundation is right, everything else grows naturally.
