Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline/Jenny Cassano/Easton.
Hi Madeline/Jenny, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After a dozen years in the mental health industry, Madeline Cassano and Jenny Easton founded Helping Minds Heal Counseling Center. Opening their own practice allowed them to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and understood while giving them the freedom to offer personalized care that truly meets clients needs.
Madeline and Jenny are dedicated to what they do. They decided to become licensed clinical social workers because they had always been passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges and find inner peace. Madeline shares, “Mental health is a public health crisis, and I saw firsthand how vital support can be in improving individuals’ well-being and overall quality of life. I wanted to be part of the solution in a meaningful way.”
Jenny Easton is also a key part of the Helping Minds Heal team. With a strong background in clinical care and a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, Jenny brings warmth, insight, and professionalism to her work with clients. She shares Madeline’s passion for creating an inclusive, compassionate environment and plays an essential role in supporting individuals and families through their healing journeys.
About Helping Minds Heal.
What sets Helping Minds Heal Counseling apart from other practices is their ability to offer both virtual and in-person sessions, providing flexible options that fit the needs of their clients. They cater to a wide range of individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults, and offer specialized support for individuals, couples, families, and groups. They are committed to connecting clients with valuable community resources and support. Their counselors are trained in various specialties and interventions, ensuring clients receive personalized care. Additionally, Helping Minds Heal Counseling accepts insurance, making their services accessible to more people.
Origins of the Business.
Helping Minds Heal Counseling Center got started through a valuable network connection. By staying engaged and maintaining strong professional relationships, they were able to lay the foundation for their practice. These connections played a crucial role in helping them grow, as they continued to nurture and build on them over time. From the very beginning, fostering meaningful relationships has been at the core of their business, allowing them to expand and serve the community more effectively.
Inspiration.
Madeline and Jenny are most inspired by their clinicians and staff. “Watching them grow, pursue their passions, and dedicate themselves to helping others is incredibly motivating,” shares Jenny. “Their commitment to making a difference in the mental health field reminds me of the impact we can have on people’s lives. Their drive, compassion, and willingness to go the extra mile to support our clients inspire us to keep pushing forward and growing, as a business.”
Mission.
At Helping Minds Heal, we believe that every individual is worthy of love, respect, and healing—just as they are. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where clients can explore their inner world, embrace their uniqueness, and rediscover their self-worth. We don’t aim to “fix” people—we walk beside them on the journey to understanding, acceptance, and lasting emotional wellness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like any new business, we encountered a few hurdles along the way. There were moments where we had to learn quickly, adjust our processes, and figure out the best way to move forward. Rather than seeing those challenges as setbacks, we focused on identifying the right resources, supports, and guidance to help us work through them. By doing that, we were able to smooth out many of the rough edges and continue building something that feels strong and sustainable.

Who We Are
At Helping Minds Heal, we believe that therapy is a collaborative process which is built on the foundation of relationship and trust between client and therapist.
The narrative that we’ve been shown on TV is that therapy is a cold, clinical process where you walk into a dusty office, get shown a chair, and are told to talk about your childhood for 45 minutes straight. From there, the therapist stares at you with intense, glaring, uncomfortable eyes, sometimes nodding their head, and—if you’re lucky—saying “mhmm”/“yeah”/“how does that make you feel” until time is up.
That’s not how we work. At all.
Instead, we believe that real personal growth happens when you feel like you can be yourself. That’s why, depending on the client(s), sometimes that means we use humor, reference pop culture, curse, play games, or, yes, directly challenge you. Because we care about what actually helps you, not what makes us look like Dr. Freud.

Group TherapyGroup therapy is a powerful way to heal, grow, and connect—with yourself and with others. In a safe, supportive setting, a small group of people meet regularly to share their experiences, learn new skills, and support one another under the guidance of a trained therapist. Group therapy is often as effective as individual therapy—and in some cases, even more so—because you realize you’re not alone.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
