Hi lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Lauren and I own Total Mobile Cocktail. I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 22 years, with about 20 of those behind the bar. I grew up around the service industry — my dad was an executive chef at a country club, so I spent a lot of time there growing up. I started working there myself as a bus girl in one of their restaurants, and from a young age I learned about work ethic, professionalism, and what it really means to take care of guests. Those lessons stuck with me and really shaped the way I approach hospitality today.
About three years ago, I was working at a bar in Madison where I met my business partner, Khaleel. He also has over 15 years in the hospitality industry, and we quickly realized we had the same mindset when it came to service and bartending. One slow Sunday shift we started talking about the idea of creating our own mobile bar business. It started as a casual conversation behind the bar, but the more we talked about it, the more it made sense.
It actually took us a couple weeks to settle on the name Total Mobile Cocktail, but once we did, things started moving pretty quickly. Our first opportunity came from a couple who were regulars at the bar. They host a large Christmas party every year and offered us the chance to bartend it. That ended up being our first official event, and it really confirmed that we were onto something.
Since then, we’ve continued to grow the business, bringing our combined experience and passion for hospitality into private events and celebrations. The goal has always been to create a professional, elevated bar experience where hosts don’t have to worry about anything and guests feel taken care of from the first drink to the last.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been completely smooth, but it’s definitely been a great learning experience. Like any new business, there was a learning curve in the beginning. One of the biggest things we had to figure out early on was helping clients understand how much ice, liquor, and supplies they actually needed for their event. After the first few parties, we quickly got a system down and now we’re very confident in providing accurate shopping lists so hosts feel prepared.
Another challenge has been getting our name out there and booking more events. When you’re starting something new, it takes time to build awareness and trust. We know the service we provide is strong because of our combined hospitality experience, so a lot of our focus now is on growing our visibility and continuing to book more parties.

Between my business partner and I, we have nearly 40 years of combined experience in the industry, so we understand not just how to make great drinks, but how to run a bar efficiently, interact with guests, and keep the flow of an event moving. We approach every event with the same professionalism and attention to detail that you’d expect from a high-end bar or restaurant.
We’re known for creating custom cocktail menus, clean and organized bar setups, and making sure every guest feels taken care of. A lot of clients appreciate that we help guide them through the process — from creating drink menus to providing liquor and supply lists — which makes planning much easier for them.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is that Total Mobile Cocktail was built from real industry experience. This isn’t something we jumped into without a background — hospitality has been our career for years, and we’re bringing that level of knowledge and service into private events. Every event is an opportunity for us to create a fun, elevated experience and make someone’s celebration even better.
