Community Highlights: Meet Xiuna Chen of Bliss Nail & Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xiuna Chen.

Hi Xiuna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my first salon, New House Nail, in Staten Island, where I learned the importance of quality service and building strong relationships with clients.

One day, while passing by Westfield, I was inspired by the energy and atmosphere. I knew I wanted to create something of my own in a similar spirit.

That vision led me to open Bliss Nail ‘s a space designed to feel welcoming, elevated, and community driven.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I faced challenges in the beginning -from building a reliable team to earning clients’ trust in a new location.

There were also moments of uncertainty, especially when balancing quality, growth, and daily operations. But each challenge helped me become more resilient and clearer about the kind of business I wanted to build.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bliss Nail is a modern nail salon focused on delivering high-quality services in a clean, welcoming, and elevated environment. We specialize in detailed nail design, long-lasting gel applications, and personalized client care.

What sets us apart is our attention to detail and our commitment to consistency – every client experience matters. We focus not only on the final result, but also on how clients feel during their time with us.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the atmosphere we’ve created. Bliss Nail is more than just a place for services – it’s a space where clients feel comfortable, valued, and connected. That sense of trust and community is what truly defines us.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
As a child, I was always drawn to small, beautiful things – flowers, plants, butterflies – anything that felt delicate and full of life. I remember wanting to bring that sense of beauty into everyday life, even in the simplest ways.

Looking back, I think that feeling stayed with me. Today, through my salon, I try to create that same sense of beauty and care for my clients -a space where they can enjoy something simple, but meaningful.
