Exploring Life & Business with Daniel Erbach of Sower’s Cove Counseling, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Erbach.

Hi Daniel , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After working so many years in the “public domain” I was encouraged to start my own private practice by a friend/colleague. As a Christian who believes in certain life sustaining principles for overall mental health and emotional stability, and with my wife’s support we started Sower’s Cove Counseling, LLC.

With the concept of sowing or planting seeds of encouragement for those who are feeling depressed or anxious, empathy for me can, for the most part, come naturally.

In my own journey, I studied Theater arts and English literature at Rutgers College in New Brunswick. After college where my dream was to be a career performing artist, I became depressed myself as the road to “make it”, seemed to elude me ever so quickly. To be honest, things became really “dark” and there did not seem to be much hope. During my own recovery process, a friend of a friend (who happened to be a therapist) suggested I go back to school to get a master’s degree…. “I can do that?”

I applied to the MSW program at Rutgers and, as I was not feeling much of “self-worth”, was even a little surprised that they had accepted me. After graduation, I worked at a nursing facility, a psychiatric rehabilitation program, psychiatric emergency screening services, and a non-profit community mental health clinic. Wearing a “business model” hat now being a sole proprietor has been the biggest learning curve, with marketing challenges and working with insurance companies in ensuring proper billing procedures.

I give God total victory in helping anyone through there circumstances whether emotional, financial or spiritually as I know that whatever success I have experienced was mostly as a result of His grace and mercy.

My wife whose own family background is in business (Her father was a highly successful overseer of electronic parts manufacturing in Japan) has been my biggest support advocate, of which my “new dream” could never even have begun, much less be of success!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in providing behavioral health services in treating depression, anxiety, grief, loss and relationship issues. Having a background in crisis-intervention with many years of experience working with emergency mobile mental health services, my expertise is in providing trauma informed interpersonal and faith-based counseling for young adults, adults, seniors, couples and for those in law enforcement/front-line workers.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Those in the community who are aware of people in need for supportive, humanistic style counseling from a therapist whose educational background is to advocate for those especially who feel that they have no voice or of little self-worth.
