Rising Stars: Meet Alina Branda of Midland Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Branda.

Hi Alina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Charmed. actually started in a really personal way. I began by making beaded word bracelets with my daughter at home. We were using words like strong, loved, and capable—and I realized pretty quickly that it was more than just jewelry. People were really connecting to the meaning behind the pieces.

That’s when it kind of clicked for me… this idea that jewelry could be something you don’t just wear, but something that reflects who you are or who you’re becoming.

From there, it naturally evolved. I moved from beaded bracelets into charm necklaces and bracelets, and eventually created the Charm Bar experience where people can come in and fully customize their own pieces.

Opening the storefront was the next big step, because I wanted it to be more than just a product—I wanted it to be a space where people could slow down, be creative, and create something meaningful for themselves.

Now, Charmed. is really about that experience. Every piece tells a story, every charm has intention, and the goal is that when someone leaves, they feel a little more strong, worthy, and empowered.

It started with something small at home… and turned into something that’s really rooted in connection, meaning, and community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d love to say it’s been a completely smooth road, but like any business, there have definitely been bumps along the way. And honestly, I think that’s what’s shaped Charmed. into what it is today.

Every challenge or mistake has really been a learning moment for me. Whether it was figuring out what works, what doesn’t, or how to better serve my customers—I’ve grown through all of it.

I’ve learned that you can’t avoid obstacles, but you can choose how you move through them. And for me, it’s always been about staying consistent, trusting the process, and not being afraid to pivot when something isn’t working.

Looking back, I’m actually really grateful for those little mistakes, because they’ve helped me build something stronger, more intentional, and more aligned with my vision.

So while it hasn’t been perfect, it’s been purposeful—and every step has played a role in getting me to where I am now.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I usually describe myself as both a business owner and a fitness trainer, because I’ve built two businesses that both center around empowering people—just in different ways.

I’m the owner and founder of Charmed., which is an affirmation-based jewelry brand and Charm Bar experience. I design and curate jewelry that allows people to create pieces that reflect who they are—whether it’s through meaningful words, symbols, or moments in their life. In the shop, I also host private events, pop-ups, and permanent jewelry experiences, so it’s really about connection and creativity just as much as it is about the product.

At the same time, I’m a trainer and co-owner alongside my husband, of JNA Fitness, where I work closely with clients on their physical strength, confidence, and overall wellness.

What I love is that both roles really align. Whether I’m training someone in the gym or helping them create a piece of jewelry, the goal is the same—I want people to feel strong, capable, and confident.

So professionally, I see myself as someone who builds experiences and businesses rooted in empowerment—both physically and emotionally.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Charmed. really started as something personal with my daughter, and my son has always been part of that inspiration too—but I also have to give a lot of credit to my husband.

He’s been one of my biggest supporters from the very beginning. He’s always pushed me to believe in myself more, to keep going even when things felt overwhelming, and to think bigger than I probably would have on my own.

Having that kind of support at home has made a huge difference, especially as I’ve been building something from the ground up. He’s been that steady voice reminding me to stay focused and keep growing, even through the harder moments.

So while Charmed. is very personal to me and my kids, it’s also been shaped by the support system around me—especially my husband, who’s always encouraged me to be better every day.
