Exploring Life & Business with Irina Robinson of Irina Robinson TRUST Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Irina Robinson.

Irina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began in music. I have a strong musical background and hold a Master’s degree in Music and Teaching. Music has always been at the heart of who I am, and it continues to be a big part of my life today—I’m still an active musician and sing at Mass every weekend at a Catholic church in Laurence Harbor, New Jersey.

About four years ago, I felt a calling to expand my path—not to leave music, but to build on it. I’ve always had a deep sense of compassion and a desire to make a positive impact in people’s lives. That led me to study clinical hypnosis. I graduated from HMI College of Hypnotherapy and am currently continuing my education, pursuing a degree in Mind-Body Psychology.

Today, I work as a hypnotherapist, specializing in helping people quit smoking for good—even those who have tried many times before. I also work with anxiety, fears and phobias (like fear of driving, public speaking, social anxiety, fear of the dentist, or insects), as well as pain management and past life regression.

What inspires me most is the power of the human mind. When you understand how it works, you can begin to create real, lasting change. What some people see as “miracles,” I see as learnable tools—ways we can work with the subconscious to improve our lives in very real and practical ways.

For example, with smoking, it’s not just about health—it’s also about awareness. Many people never stop to calculate the financial impact. An average one-pack-a-day smoker can spend over $4,000 a year. Over time, that adds up to life-changing amounts—whether that’s a dream vacation, a home investment, or long-term financial security. Sometimes, seeing that bigger picture becomes the turning point.

Alongside my hypnotherapy work, I continue to create music. I’m currently working on my first album, Songs of Rising Hearts, in collaboration with a lyricist, Steven Koskinen. I compose the music and record the vocals, bringing his lyrics to life. Some pieces are inspired by classical music with Christian themes, while others are fully original. We’re excited to share this project soon.

At the core of everything I do—both in music and hypnotherapy—is a desire to connect, inspire, and help people access something deeper within themselves. I truly believe we all have more potential than we realize.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but I don’t believe meaningful paths are meant to be.

Stepping into hypnotherapy while maintaining my identity as a musician required me to redefine what my path could look like. I didn’t see it as leaving one world behind for another, but as expanding into something more multidimensional. That perspective became a turning point—it allowed me to build something that truly reflects who I am.

Another layer has been establishing my voice in a field that is often misunderstood. Hypnotherapy carries certain assumptions, so part of my work has been bringing clarity and credibility—showing that working with the subconscious mind is not abstract, but practical, structured, and deeply effective.

I am currently building my private practice, and I approach this phase with intention and long-term vision. Like any entrepreneurial journey, it requires consistency, discipline, and trust in the process. What keeps me grounded is knowing the real impact this work has on people’s lives—that’s what drives me forward.

Balancing this with my ongoing work as a musician has been both a challenge and a strength. Music keeps me connected to emotion and expression, while hypnotherapy allows me to support transformation on a deeper level. Together, they create a unique and aligned path.

Looking back, every challenge has contributed to clarity. I’m not just building a career—I’m building work that feels purposeful, integrated, and designed to grow over time.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run a private hypnotherapy practice under the name Irina Robinson TRUST Therapy, where I work with clients on creating real, lasting change by working directly with the subconscious mind.

One of my specialties is smoking cessation—particularly helping people who have tried to quit multiple times without success. My approach is structured and results-focused, guiding clients through a 4–6 week process designed to shift not just habits, but the underlying patterns that keep those habits in place. In addition to that, I work with anxiety, fears, and phobias (such as fear of driving, public speaking, social anxiety, fear of the dentist, insects, and more), as well as pain management and past life regression.

What I’m known for is a combination of depth and practicality. I don’t position this work as something abstract or mystical—I focus on helping people understand how their mind works and how to use it intentionally. When clients see that change is not about willpower, but about working with the subconscious in the right way, everything shifts.

One of the things I’m most proud of is helping people succeed after they’ve previously struggled—especially in areas like smoking cessation, where many feel stuck or discouraged. Seeing someone regain a sense of control and confidence in themselves is incredibly meaningful.

What sets me apart is both my approach and my background. My foundation in music gives me a strong sense of emotional awareness, presence, and connection, which naturally carries into my work with clients. At the same time, my training in clinical hypnotherapy allows me to apply structured, proven techniques that create measurable results. It’s a combination of artistry and methodology.

At its core, my work is about helping people realize that change is not only possible—it’s something they can actively create once they understand how their mind works.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I don’t see myself as a traditional risk-taker—I see myself as someone who makes intentional decisions and is willing to step into uncertainty when it aligns with a bigger vision.

One of the most significant “risks” I’ve taken was expanding into hypnotherapy while already having an established identity in music. From the outside, it can look like stepping into a completely different field, with no guarantees. But for me, it wasn’t a random leap—it was a very conscious decision driven by a clear sense of purpose.

Choosing to build a private practice is another form of risk. There’s no fixed path, no immediate stability, and no certainty in the early stages. It requires consistency, self-trust, and the ability to move forward even when results are still unfolding. I’ve embraced that process fully, knowing that meaningful work takes time to establish.

My perspective on risk is that it’s less about taking chances and more about alignment. When something feels aligned with who you are and what you’re building, the “risk” becomes a necessary step rather than something to avoid. At the same time, I approach decisions thoughtfully—I rely on education, structure, and continuous growth rather than impulsive action.

In that sense, I don’t take risks for the sake of it. I take them when they are purposeful—and when they have the potential to lead to something meaningful, both for myself and for the people I work with.
