Hi Eliza, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
4 years ago Mind & Moxie was just a dream. no portfolio, no roadmap, just an idea that I could build something bigger than myself. My office was my NYC city apartment and content creation wasn’t even a thing yet. The day I decided to go all in, I didn’t tell a soul for fear of being cringe and honestly, it really was cringe but I also learned so much. The first person I ever brought on was a total stranger but she is the smartest decision I ever made and she’s now a partner. There have been incredible wins over the last few years. DM’s that have changed the trajectory of our brand but there have also been tough lows, sleepless nights, mistakes that kept me up and the pressure of knowing that people’s livelihoods depended on the decisions we make. But through every setback, every pivot, every speed bump we persevered. We became a company, a team and a brand that I am endlessly proud of.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Certainly not. I don’t think entrepreneurship is meant to be a smooth road. I think with any business, it’s highly cyclical and it comes down to knowing the lifecycle of your product. When you build a business from scratch, there are no road maps. It took many years of nailing down systems and processes before we became a scalable brand.
