Meet Barbora Hindson of New Jersey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbora Hindson.

Hi Barbora, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Barbora is a Morris County, New Jersey based photographer specializing in online dating profile photography, portrait photography, fashion photography, and lifestyle photography. Barbora’s ten years of experience in the wedding industry, including photographing celebrities, family and portrait photography, has given her a tremendous insight into her clients’ photographic needs

Barbora was born in the Czech Republic where she started exploring city photography in Prague. To follow her dream of photography and traveling, she explored parts of South Africa, Australia, and Europe to found herself in the USA where she has been residing since 1997. As a formal model she understands what it is like to be in front of a camera and now uses her experience to make her clients feel comfortable at a photoshoot.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a profound journey of self-discovery, defined by unexpected bumps along the road that ultimately revealed themselves as essential opportunities for growth. Transitioning into entrepreneurship has been a rigorous education in itself, requiring me to master the multifaceted demands of running a business while simultaneously guiding my three children through their own life paths. Beyond the professional scope, this process has involved a deep dive into financial literacy and mortgage management, all while navigating the complex, rewarding work of relearning and reclaiming my own identity.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the owner of Barbora Hindson Photography, based in Morris County, New Jersey. I specialize in online dating profile photography, personal branding, professional headshots, and lifestyle portraits that help people present themselves with confidence and authenticity.

What sets me apart is my ability to make clients feel comfortable in front of the camera. As a former professional model, I understand both sides of the lens and guide clients through posing, expression, wardrobe, and storytelling to create natural, impactful images.

What I am most proud of is the transformation I see in my clients. Many arrive nervous about being photographed and leave feeling confident, empowered, and excited about how they see themselves. My goal is not just to take great photos, but to help people be seen at their very best.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Absolutely. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success comes from consistency, not perfection. When I started, I thought I needed to have everything figured out before taking the next step. In reality, growth happens by taking action, learning from mistakes, and improving along the way.

I also wish I had understood earlier that people connect with you as much as they connect with your work. Building relationships, being reliable, and genuinely caring about your clients often matter more than having the latest equipment or the perfect portfolio.

Most importantly, don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Focus on becoming a little better every day, stay curious, and trust that your unique perspective is your greatest asset. The photographers and entrepreneurs who succeed are usually the ones who simply refuse to quit.
