Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Attuh.
Hi Linda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey in healthcare began when I worked for several years as a home health aide before becoming a registered nurse. Working directly with clients in their homes allowed me to understand the importance of compassionate, dependable care and the trust families place in caregivers. It also gave me firsthand knowledge of the challenges caregivers face and the support they need to provide quality care.
After becoming a registered nurse, I gained additional clinical experience and developed a deeper understanding of patient safety, dignity, and individualized care. Throughout my career, I continued to see how difficult it could be for families to find reliable caregivers they could trust. That experience inspired my husband, Augustine Yeboah, a respiratory therapist, and me to establish Yebz Home Care Agency LLC.
We created Yebz Home Care Agency to provide compassionate and dependable support to older adults, individuals recovering from illness, and others who need assistance to remain safe and independent at home. Because I have worked as both an aide and a nurse, I understand home care from the perspectives of the client, the family, the caregiver, and the healthcare professional.
Building the agency has required patience and perseverance. We have worked through licensing, accreditation, insurance, caregiver recruitment, policy development, and the many other requirements involved in establishing a responsible home care organization.
Today, we are continuing to build relationships within our community and expand access to quality home care services. Our goal is to treat every client with dignity, respect, patience, and compassion while giving families peace of mind. This journey has taught me that meaningful growth takes time, faith, consistency, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of our greatest challenges has been navigating the extensive licensing, accreditation, insurance, and regulatory requirements involved in operating a home care agency. Each step requires time, patience, careful documentation, and a significant financial commitment.
Another major challenge has been building visibility and earning the community’s trust as a growing agency. Connecting with families who need care, obtaining contracts and insurance referrals, and competing with larger, established agencies takes time. Recruiting dependable caregivers who share our values of compassion, dignity, and professionalism has also required careful effort.
At the same time, I have continued working as a registered nurse while balancing the responsibilities of building the agency and caring for my family. There have been delays, disappointments, and moments when progress felt slow, but I remained committed to our mission.
These challenges have made me more patient, resourceful, and determined. My experience as both a home health aide and a registered nurse reminds me why this work matters. Every obstacle has helped us improve our organization and prepare to provide families with the safe, compassionate, and dependable care they deserve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
