Rising Stars: Meet Rosemary DeTrolio RMT of National

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosemary DeTrolio RMT.

Hi Rosemary, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Here’s a bit about my journey and the path that led me to the work I do today. I was an elementary school teacher for 32 years, and I truly loved it. Alongside my teaching career, I began exploring Reiki in 1996, embarking on a journey trained by my Reiki master teacher. Over time, I realized I could turn this passion into something more, and in 2000, I started my own business. Initially, I focused on offering Reiki sessions, but my path continued to evolve.
Even earlier, in 1993, I began connecting with the Angelic realm and channeling guidance for myself for three years. This was a skill, I kept entirely private, my personal exploration and connection with God and the angels. However, as often happens, people started to notice and began asking questions about why I was so joyful. Slowly, I began sharing my experiences and offering guidance to others. Word spread naturally—teachers I worked with would approach me in the staff room, asking to attend my Angel workshops or receive readings. It was heartwarming and deeply fulfilling to see this work resonate with so many. During an angel workshop, one of my guests attended. Unbeknownst to me, she was a reporter who wrote for our local news. She penned an article about me and my workshop! After that, many local people contacted me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We all experience personal struggles. My struggles have been teachers to me. They have deepened my character and have given me a very non-judgmental view of my clients.

I prefer not to dwell on painful moments, but to learn from them. I am quite resilient. None of us leave this world unscathed, We always have a choice of either holding the pain, or learning from it. I chose to learn the lesson, heal, and pivot.

I believe that the most gifted healers and life shifters have been through the fire and walked out transformed. I always say “If you are going through hell, don’t visit too long. Keep walking!”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a retired NJ educator. and entrepreneur and Reiki Master teacher. My hope is that my students believed in their gifts and have become productive and creative adults.

This philosophy of empowerment has shaped my business, Hands of Light by Rosemary workshops and the focus of my sessions and workshops.

I provide tools and techniques to enrich lives, help to develop a client’s inner guidance, and rediscover the connection to the divine we all have.

These practices are woven into my keynote speaking engagements as well as in my workshops and 1:1 sessions. Being a well grounded adult and a Masters in Education, I am organized and can present material in an interesting way to engage my listeners.

I am available for Corporate HR, Seminars, and plenary events where speakers gather and present life affirming information.
For me, this journey has been about both sharing what I’ve learned and inspiring others to step into their personal power, path, and purpose and find joy.

My unique out of the box skill is that I directly channel angels and have done readings since 1993 for my clients and the many referral they send to me. I value my high intuitive nature and use it to guide clients.

The main reason I started my podcast, The Light Walker’s Path-Rosemary DeTrolio, was to help other light workers, healers, inspirational people to share their message. Listeners are inspired and empowered knowing there are many helpers in the world, and hope is one small step ahead. It takes courage to change or to open to new ideas and that is the focus of my podcast.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned through my own angelic guidance is the importance of empowering people to trust their own intuition.

While many people seek out readers for answers, I believe we all have the capacity to access intuitive guidance and inner wisdom ourselves. One of the skills I teach is how to access this inner guidance to help with decision- making.

When I started my business, it would have helped to have an accountant to set up my books. Pricing was by trail and error and and when I was a new business owner, I felt unworthy to charge to the value I was providing my clients.

I’d say always do more than expected and give your client and extra business card to share.
Ask for google reviews too.

I encourage new businesses to go to seminars and network. I make use of the many free NJ services to help new businesses grow. There is also a great new group that formed at Centenary University for entrepreneurship and they have a yearly business seminar.
