Meet Bryan of Balance Point Creative

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan.

Hi Bryan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Balance Point Creative really grew out of my years working in television, commercial production, and corporate creative. Over the course of my career, I had the chance to work on all kinds of projects and with all kinds of businesses, and I kept adding to my skill set along the way. I started in television and production, but eventually learned how to handle much more than just the camera and the edit. I got into creative direction, messaging, photography, branding, marketing, digital content, and all of the pieces that go into actually helping a business communicate with its audience. At some point, I realized I had become a bit of a creative Swiss Army knife.

That led me to start Balance Point Creative. I wanted to take that full range of experience and put it to work for a much broader group of businesses. Rather than simply showing up, shooting a video, handing over the files, and moving on to the next project, I wanted to be able to look at the bigger picture and help a business figure out what it actually needs. Sometimes that means video. Sometimes it means a website, branding, photography, social content, or marketing strategy. Often, it means several of those things working together.

That is really what Balance Point is about today. We give businesses one place to turn when they need creative and marketing support, instead of having to find five different companies to handle five different pieces. I started the company because I wanted to use the full range of skills I had spent my career developing, while also helping businesses get the kind of creative support they need to grow and communicate effectively.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any business, we’ve had our share of struggles. The economic ups and downs over the years have led a lot of businesses to cut back on creative or try to handle their own social media. That has actually helped define where Balance Point Creative fits in. We remind businesses that they don’t need to become social media experts. They need to focus on running their business, while we help them create content that gets attention and makes them stand out.

AI has brought another interesting challenge. We see a lot of businesses using AI to quickly create videos, graphics, and flyers, but when everyone is using the same tools, everything starts looking the same. We’ve turned that into an opportunity to show businesses why personality, strategy, and real creative thinking still matter.

And then there’s the challenge of simply running a business. As a creative person, I’d much rather be behind a camera or working on a project, but now I also have to wear the sales, administrative, bookkeeping, and business-owner hats. Learning to balance all of that while continuing to deliver quality work has been a big part of the journey. It’s definitely been a learning process, but that process has also helped shape the company into what it is today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Balance Point Creative?
Balance Point Creative is a full-service creative and marketing company that helps businesses tell their story and get noticed. We work across video production, photography, branding, websites, social media, content creation, and marketing strategy. Our background is rooted in television and commercial production, but over the years we’ve built a much broader toolbox so we can help businesses with more than one piece of the puzzle.

What really sets us apart is that we don’t want to simply be the company that makes a video or manages a social media account. We look at the bigger picture and help businesses figure out how all of their creative and marketing efforts should work together. A lot of businesses end up working with several different vendors for video, photography, websites, branding, and social media. We want to be the one place they can turn to for all of that.

I’m probably most proud of the Balance Point brand itself because the name reflects what we’re trying to do for our clients. We want to bring balance to their creative and marketing efforts and take some of that work off their plate. At the end of the day, our clients are experts at what they do. They don’t need to become experts in video, social media, design, or marketing too. We want to give them a creative partner they can trust, so they can focus on running their business.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve never really thought of myself as a huge risk-taker, but starting Balance Point Creative was definitely a major one. I had spent years building a career in television, production, and corporate creative, so walking away from the traditional path and betting on myself was a big decision. There was no guarantee that the business would work, but I knew I had built a skill set that I wanted to put to work in my own way.

I think about risk less as taking a huge leap and more as being willing to make a decision without having every answer figured out. Starting a business has meant taking plenty of smaller risks, trying new services, working with new industries, investing in equipment, and adapting when the market changes. Some things work and some don’t. The important part is being willing to learn from both.

For me, the bigger risk would have been staying comfortable and never finding out what I could build on my own. Starting Balance Point has definitely come with plenty of uncertainty, but I’ve learned that sometimes you have to trust your experience, take the shot, and be willing to adjust along the way.
