Rising Stars: Meet Isaiah Sosa of New Jersey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Sosa.

Hi Isaiah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey as an artist has been about turning opportunities into milestones and continuing to push myself to bigger stages. I started by performing at my own high school homecoming, which was one of the first moments where I really got to see how my music could connect with a crowd. From there, I continued building my name and performing wherever I could.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to perform alongside Philly rapper Skrilla, have my music featured on WorldStarHipHop, and get my music played on Hot 97. One of my biggest moments so far has been seeing my song “Sara” go viral and reach a much wider audience. What makes these accomplishments even more special is that I’ve been able to do it without a major co-sign or outside help — it’s been me and my father putting in the work and making things happen.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I still look at myself as an artist who is building. Every performance, release, and opportunity has helped me grow and figure out who I want to be as Sosa Da Don. My goal is to keep representing New Jersey, continue creating music that people connect with, and take my career to an even bigger level.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles has been trying to protect my ideas and vision while dealing with people who wanted to be around me without actually helping me move forward. I’ve had other artists try to take ideas I created, people try to position themselves in my career just to get in the way to take control of my career.

Another challenge has been not always getting support, even from people close to me, despite me showing love and supporting them. Being one of the youngest people doing what I’m doing has also brought its own challenges. I’ve dealt with hate and doubt from older peers and even veterans in the scene. But all of that has taught me to trust my vision, stay focused, and keep building even when nobody is clapping for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a music artist known as Sosa Da Don, and I specialize in creating music that reflects my experiences, my personality, and where I come from. I’m most proud of the growth I’ve had as an independent artist and the opportunities I’ve created for myself along the way.

What sets me apart is my love for music itself. I’m not doing this for the money or fame. I genuinely love creating and connecting with people through music. I feel like real talent gets overlooked in the industry today, and I want to prove that passion, originality, and staying true to yourself still matter.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see myself expanding beyond music and stepping into more modeling and movie roles. I want to grow as an entertainer overall and use my creativity in different ways while continuing to build my music career. I see myself becoming more versatile and showing people that I can do more than just make music.
