Today we’d like to introduce you to Shauntice Harris.
Shauntice, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always liked doing hair and anything beauty related but I never considered it for a career. I saw an ad for a cosmetology school and then it all clicked for me. I worked at a few salons where I learned so much. I decided to open my own business because I wanted to create a space where my guests feel like they are truly seen and heard. I want them to leave me feeling refreshed and well taken care of.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was very bumpy for me in the beginning because I started from scratch. I was working about an hour away from where I live. I decided on a whim that I would just open my salon after wanting to for so long. I didn’t quite know how to transition and grow my appointment book. I work everyday to get the word out and seek those in need of a stylist. I’m continuing to grow and get people to trust me.

I’m a hair stylist that would be considered a master stylist in the salon world. I specialize in beaded sew-in, k-tip, i-tip and tape-in extensions. I offer silk presses, blowouts, haircutting, coloring and special event styling. The fact that I care about hair health first and foremost sets me apart from many other stylists, I am versatile and able to cater to most hair needs and all hair types. Most stylists are only focused on the styling aspect of hair. I’m proud to have people that love me as a stylist and they share that with people they know to help me grow. I’d like more people to know that I offer special event styling. There’s nothing like making someone feel good about their look on a special day.
