Today we’d like to introduce you to NIKITA TANWANI.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey started the day I left a six-figure tech job to pursue pageantry and YouTube full-time. It was 2019, and I had just finished competing at Femina Miss India, the country’s largest national pageant. During my preparation, I noticed there was hardly any information online about pageant prep techniques for Indian women.
Pageantry changed my life, and I wanted more women to experience it – but it felt unattainable to most, even though I saw it as one of the few platforms that truly democratized opportunity. The gap was a lack of information about this industry, and I was ready to fill it. I started sharing my Miss India experience and creating educational pageant prep videos. The numbers grew quickly and organically, and soon there was demand for workshops. My first two sold out within hours, and for the first time, I saw what this could actually become.
Over the next three years, I developed online programs and ran 25+ in-person bootcamps with national reach. In 2023, I moved to New York and started working with contestants across the US, and the brand grew globally. The name Nikita Tanwani has since been recognized as:
1. The sole Indian coach among the Top 10 Pageant Coaches in the US at Best in Pageantry Awards.
2. A featured voice in the Hulu documentary “Cracks in the Crown” (2024) – recognized as an established, camera-ready voice in high-stakes, high-visibility conversations.
3. Expert speaker at the National Pageant Expo, UK (2026) – one of three speakers invited from the US to speak on leadership for women.
In 2027, I’m bringing CONQUER grooming bootcamps to USA – helping women walk in as one version of themselves and walk out ready to conquer any room, through confidence, empowerment, mindset, and communication transformation. Whether it’s a teenager prepping for her first title or a woman in her 40s reinventing her whole identity, it’s never really about the crown. It’s about who you become getting there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth having comes easy. There were definitely struggles along the way, and each one looked different at each stage of the journey. In the early days, it was daunting to be a 25-year-old speaking to Indian parents about why their daughter should compete in a pageant – so I was very happy to turn 30! When I moved to New York, the cultural shift meant rewiring my entire understanding of customer psychology, since audiences here respond very differently. Challenging, but a great learning experience.
Beyond that, I think of the logistical challenges as little hiccups – after all, the struggles are what character development is for, for any entrepreneur.
