Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
BCCM began when I started creating jewelry & other small items as a collaborator within a shop owned by a friend. I have always had a fierce love of all things dark, spooky & magickal and it was a natural evolution for me to go from collaborator to following my own path, which led me to bring my business fully online as well as on the road traveling to different markets throughout the year while also holding down a full time job.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We are fortunate that our struggles have been few & far between. One aspect that has been a constant evolution is how to scale our offerings without stretching ourselves too thin. As a small business owner, you wear all the hats whether it be admin, finance, operations, research or production – and there is only so much time in a day!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We’re an LGBTQ+, woman owned, witchcraft based business in Central Jersey.
We focus on handmade witchcraft items and kits as well as our line of self-care intention & ritual oils, and artisan perfumes. We are also known for our coffin zen gardens & one of a kind handmade spooky miniature decor, as well as bone & gemstone jewelry and accessories.
Our items are crafted in small batches because magick deserves attention and authenticity. Whether you’re deep into your path or just starting to explore, we believe there’s room for everyone seeking a connection with something greater. Our perfumes and ritual oils are more than scents, they’re wearable spells, invoking the essence within & raising your energy to an otherworldly level.
We are always open to custom requests for fragrances or witchy spell-crafting.
October 2026 we are celebrating our fourth year in business & we’re so proud of how far we’ve come over the years. We are also incredibly proud to announce beginning Oct 27th, a selection of our products will be available at Artisan Mill Co in their Manheim, PA location! This is an exciting step in the Black Cat Curios & Magick journey!

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking can be an overwhelming experience sometimes. There will always be a list of “what ifs” when you take a leap of faith with any sort of potential risk. Sometimes it results in great reward and other times you might fall, but you get back up, and keep pushing forward.
A major risk I’ve taken this year is the jump to pursuing our small business full time! This could not be possible were it not for the infinite love & support of my partner in life & business, Carlie. She is supportive of every dream I’ve ever had for our small business and despite working her own full time job, attends every event or appearance BCCM takes part in. She tirelessly helps with every aspect of our business and I am endlessly grateful for her support & encouragement.
That said, if you don’t take a chance when something is risky, how will you ever know if you could succeed? It’s part believing in yourself and maybe also a bit of fearlessness.
