Today we’d like to introduce you to Irene Weinberg.
Hi Irene, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Irene Weinberg, host of the internationally acclaimed Grief and Rebirth podcast, and I’m also one of the thought leaders featured in the revolutionary documentary Every Soul Knows—a film that explores consciousness, the soul’s journey, and our shared spiritual evolution alongside some of today’s most inspiring visionaries.
Through Grief and Rebirth Podcast, I’ve had the honor of speaking with more than 400 remarkable healers, experts, and survivors. My own path began with a profound spiritual awakening after a devastating loss—an experience that cracked me open and set me on a mission, to help people understand that death is not the end… and that healing, reconnection, and renewed purpose are always within reach. In 1997, I was a complete skeptic about any notions of spirituality. Then one day, while I was washing dishes, a thought came into my head that was not my thought. It told me: “Saul has to go. Many lessons will be learned from his death.” Somehow this message sounded “right” to me, even though I didn’t know the source of the strange thought. I brought a glass of water to my husband Saul, who was watching a JETS football game in our family room, kissed the top of Saul’s head and put the strange thought out of my mind. Two months later, Saul and I were returning home from a weekend skiing in the Catskill Mountains, when our car went into a huge swerve. I looked at Saul, and he was sleeping at the wheel of the car. I called out to him; he woke up and saw what was happening and began to pull our Kia SUV out of the swerve. Instead of righting itself, the Kia began to flip up into the air. It felt like I was in a gigantic roller coaster. At the first of 4 flips, another message entered my mind, saying “He’s not going to make it. You are.” As we began the 2nd flip, I felt myself leave my body, and was in a huge black expanse. I hovered there for a short while and suddenly felt myself pushed back into my body as the car kept flipping. (I later understood that Saul was crossing over to the Other Side, and it was not my time to go.) There was a third flip, then on the 4th flip, we landed upside down in a ravine on the side of the NY Thruway, a helicopter landed in front of me (we held up traffic for almost 3 hours on the thruway) and 3 EMTs jumped out of the helicopter and righted my car on the side of the road. Then one of the EMT’s reached through the shattered window of my car and began to pull me out of the car. (I did not yet know that I had a torn artery at the bottom of my right foot , I had lost the ACL in my right knee, my collarbone was reversed inside my right shoulder, and I had a detached retina, all of which would require 4 surgeries). As I was being pulled through the window of my car, a strong, authoritative male voice gave me a heavenly directive, to “be loving and kind to everyone.” This changed my life and there is so much more to my story, which is detailed in my book titled They Serve Bagels in Heaven. I had been receiving messages from mediums during which Saul described the accident, the first meal I made him, what he was wearing the night of the accident, and sooo much more, plus they all told me that there was a Divine Plan…Saul and I were soulmates, and we came to this lifetime to work together, and if certain things didn’t work out for Saul, we had agreed before we manifested in this lifetime that we would work together from across the veil. The first directive I received was to write a book about my profound spiritual awakening, which became They Serve Bagels in Heaven. (There is a great story behind that title on page 8!) I thought that I was done; I had channeled the book with the help of a medium. Then one day I was in my office, and the word “podcast” suddenly came into my head. I literally asked someone, “What’s a podcast?” I knew this was my next step, so I created my podcast Grief and Rebirth: Finding the joy in life. I interview grief and trauma specialists, healers, mediums and people who have lived through great trauma, healed and transformed their lives. Grief and Rebirth Podcast is now changing lives, with a mission to educate, enlighten and present healing choices, to inspire people to evolve and heal). It is in the top 1.5% of 3 million podcasts globally, streaming in 100 countries, and very close to 1,000,000 downloads! Again, I thought I was finished, then I got the message to write a 2nd book, so I lifted the stories of 24 people who are in the “third chapter of their lives,” who I have interviewed and who are working on leaving incredible legacies as their lives are drawing to an end. The book is titled Good to the Last Drop: Embracing Your Life’s Third Chapter, and it is very inspirational. Again, I thought I was done, but about a year ago, I received another message, to begin a healing community, which a very spiritual, evolved panel of intuitives and healers will answer questions from people that will shed a “higher more conscious view” of issues and questions that will be posed to the panel. The panel will consist of a Numerologist who is also a seer, a Medical Intuitive, a Ph.D in Transpersonal Psychology who also accesses the Akashic Records, a trauma specialist, a tarot reader, and an Astrologer.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My amazing spiritual awakening sets me apart from others. My authenticity sets me apart from others. My knowledge after interviewing more than 400 remarkable healers, spiritual experts, and advisors sets me apart from others. The fact that I am about to enter my 8th decade and this amazing thing is happening in my life sets me apart from others. My continued faith and how things have fallen into place from my firm honoring of the Divine Plan sets me apart from others. The fact that I am humbled and grateful, this has nothing to do with “ego,” sets me apart from others. And there is more! Plus I am very proud of the fact that Grief and Rebirth Podcast is so very close to one million downloads, helping MANY people!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
We do not die! I am no longer afraid of physical death. I absolutely know that we go on after death. That we need to “be loving and kind to everyone,” including ourselves, and that we can detach from toxic influences that come into our lives. And more!
