Rising Stars: Meet Jillienne Martin of Monmouth County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillienne Martin.

Jillienne Martin

Hi Jillienne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started this journey in August of 2023 while navigating a lot of changes in my life. Art had always been a passion of mine, and working at a sip & paint studio in college inspired me to create my own business with a unique twist. I wanted to create events using fun, unique materials and projects people could use and enjoy afterward, not just your canvas painting party. After months of brainstorming and jotting down ideas, Boozy Brushes came to life. What started as a fun, creative idea turned into something bigger than I ever imagined!

My first sip & paint was in my friend’s backyard with a group of my girlfriends. Not long after, I was given the opportunity to host an event at a cute shop in Red Bank. Before I knew it, I was hosting events at hotels, boutiques, breweries, wineries, people’s homes, and so many other amazing places.

One of my favorite parts of this business has been the people I’ve met along the way. I’ve made incredible connections, friendships, and relationships through Boozy Brushes, and I’m so grateful for every single one of them.

I’m still learning every single day, especially when it comes to the business side, and I don’t have all the answers. But I know I love bringing people together and creating an environment where everyone can laugh, be creative, and have fun. People come to Boozy Brushes to celebrate birthdays, have girls nights, try something new, spend time with friends, or simply get out of the house and do something fun. Being a small part of those moments is something I’ll never take for granted.

I never imagined Boozy Brushes would grow into what it is today. What started as an idea and a sip & paint in my friend’s backyard has turned into something that means so much more to me than I ever expected. I’m so proud of how far Boozy Brushes has come and so grateful for every person who has supported me, attended an event, booked a party, worked with me, or simply told someone about my business. And I’m even more excited to see where it goes next. 🤍

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not! There are plenty of days when I’m squeezing chairs, tables, and supplies into my car, carrying heavy things by myself, and wondering how I’m possibly going to fit one more thing in there. But I truly wouldn’t change it for the world. I’d rather do this forever than go back to a 9–5.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Boozy Brushes is a mobile sip & paint and creative event business that brings fun, hands-on experiences to venues, private parties, corporate events, birthdays, girls’ nights, and more. Instead of focusing only on traditional canvas painting, I wanted Boozy Brushes to feel a little different. We paint and create on all kinds of unique materials, from wine and martini glasses to ceramics, candles, tote bags, flower vases, seasonal pieces, and so much more.

I think what sets Boozy Brushes apart is that the experience is just as important as the project itself. My goal is to create events where people can relax, have a drink, laugh with their friends, meet new people, and be creative without feeling like they have to be an artist. I’m always coming up with new ideas and projects so there’s constantly something different to try.

What I’m most proud of is how organically Boozy Brushes has grown. Starting with a small sip & paint event in my friend’s backyard, I’ve since expanded to hosting events at hotels, breweries, boutiques, farms, restaurants, private homes, and so many other amazing spaces. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with incredible local businesses, build lasting relationships, and bring communities together through fun, creative experiences.

I’m most proud that Boozy Brushes truly feels like a reflection of me, combining my background in art, marketing, and design with my love for creativity and bringing people together. Seeing people come back to multiple events, bring their friends, and continue supporting the business is probably the most rewarding part of it all.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
love the sense of community in New Jersey, especially at the Jersey Shore. There are so many amazing local businesses, venues, and people that have helped Boozy Brushes grow. If I had to choose a least favorite part, it would probably be how quickly the summer flies by! There’s always so much going on, and I wish the season lasted longer!
